Solitude
The color red represents protection in some cultures, passion, its connected to our blood deep guttural feelings that we cannot escape. The ocean gave interminable sound through the waves that reflects a feminine cycle, I stand here on the shores asking for protection, solitude is what guides me to fulfil the world I live in for periods of time without my mother to convey in almost a spiritual ceremony.
I am exploring the psychology of a self-portrait, not just simple reflections or reproductions of the camera. I didn't decided to be a photographer, I just happened to fall into it.
These images were a conceptual healing process, gratefully after I submited them they were selected for the University Art Museum and The Miller house exhibition.
Title: The Alice Inside of Me
I am into the tale of Alice in Wonderland, while I was growing up my mother decided to bought a vinyl record where we used to hear stories, Alice was one of them and that was my first and only form to know the story, I was forced to use my imagination. I happened to believe that Alice was with brown hair and brown eyes. The importance of the specific project was and still is the opportunity to represent with myself my own take of the story which made me learn how to go through the stages of feeling vulnerable, confused, and becoming confident.
The Darkness is Fragile
The images I am presenting to you allowed me to grow as an artist. We all go through situations that sometimes are hard to explain, with my images I have the opportunity to show the strength side of myself. In the water we all can feel vulnerable but for me I happen to find the way to create art with the waves and feel unassailable.The project is base on a legend from my country, and gratefully was selected to be part of the Photo LA exhibition were I presented in a 11x17 size and framed.

For the artist sometimes it is hard to decide while making work if you want to be commercialized or stay focused on pure art. Irvin Penn happened to unify both sides through photography. I was inspired by his work and I decided to replicate these images. Although I used digital camera, I worked hard to attain the lighting and the tones he had on his photographs. I am grateful for my colleagues who were always working with my crazy ideas and supported me. These photographs were in Photo LA exhibition and some people were giving me great feed back.
Title: Nostalgia
The moments we live have me going back to the memories of the creation of the these photographs. The title of this project allowed me to perform myself with my own old photographs that bring me nostalgia. Here I worked in the studio with strobe lights and black backdrop to complement the props along with myself.
