I'll love you if... you talk to me about star wars and lord of the rings and books and read poetry to me and have breakfast with me because it is my favorite thing in the world, if you share your passions with me and let me share mine with you even though we may not like the same things because we're different but it's okay because everyone needs to have something that is precious to them. if you enjoy silence in a shared room and have undying affections and a shared devotion towards the other without needing the other, without depending on the other, without having to be with the other because space and time amongst your self alone is precious and undervalued, talk to me about what you love so i could listen to the adoration spewing from your lips and watch the light play and bounce off from your luminescent eyes, if you travel with me and make memories among a new place, if you teach me something new, if you compliment the food i made for you last night which took me hours to come up with but say you like breakfast better, if you let me sit alone sometimes, if you write me letters, if you go your way and i go mine so that we may allow ourselves the gift of missing the other and recognizing the significance mere presence has on us. Make me laugh with sarcasm and dry humor so that i may spit movie references and commercial one-liners your way in my defense. play games with me and call out the silly nonsensical things i always do, and congratulate me when i manage to defeat you.  Let me go on my own sometimes. I want to feel free always and they may mean seeking my own comfort, and new likeness, a new interest, and it's not that i wish not to share it with you, it's more about letting myself grow independently and manifesting new parts of myself to hold dear, and I'd love to show you, to teach you these creations if you allow me to always feel like I belong to myself.52. something else I'm talented at.. "Blu-ray" Essentials response (because I didn't have enough room in the answer section). Basically the collection should consist of epic films: Harry Potter Collection, Alien Anthology, The Terminator Anthology, Indian Jones, Back to the Future, Star Wars, X-Men Trilogy, Ironman (1&2), Fight Club, Lord of the Rings, Captain America, Braveheart, Drive, The Hunger Games, Blade Runner, basically any Disney film that you still have a VHS copy of, Stanley Kubrick films and the Criterion Collection.

HOLY MOLY that is one serious list of essentials. Thank you!

The problem with so many anthologies is that I almost never want all of the movies in a given series. Terminator? Just 1 and 2, please. Same with X-Men. They should make a Star Trek box where you get to pick your favorite five or something, like you're at a buffet.

Indiana Jones is my toughest choice. I really seriously have a strong reluctance to give them more of my money after Crystal Skull. I feel so used.

Underworld(my response: fun movie, but not an essential for me)

Jurassic Park(a fine suggestion indeed)

Ocean's 11 (but only 11!)(good, but not essential for me. Out of Sight, maybe)

Casino Royale(tough call. I tested my new BD player with the Royale DVD. looked pretty spectacular already)

Titanic(I never got this on DVD! might be a good one to get.)

Firefly and, naturally,(like the show, but...)

Serenity(...LOVE the movie. Good suggestion.)

Back to the Future(good idea. I'd like to get this, but will watch my original DVDs in the new player first. haven't watched this with my boys yet; perhaps still too Oedipal.)

Dark Knight trilogy(this is a hard one because my DVDs are still pretty new. tough to justify spending more Bat-money so soon)

Alfred Hitchcock collection(essential for many; not for me) (and...commence True Tumblr Film Followers unfollowing en masse)

the Bournes(I'm hoping I can watch these if they ever play them on TNT.)

LOTR(don't have much of a connection to these. fun movies but I found them all kind of empty, character-wise. too many 1/0s.)

Jaws(yes. yes. yes. This will most likely come to pass.)

E.T.(good suggestion. I never owned it on DVD so this seems like a slam-dunk.)
