Name: “Hubert Von Vestra.”
Age: “25.”
How well do we know each other?: “We know each other better than any other.”
Do you have a pet name for me?: “…Is ‘Lady Edelgard’ sufficient for this category?”
Do I have a pet name for you?: “If you have ever referred to me as anything other than Hubert, I am not at present aware.”
Are you attracted to me?: He chuckles softly to himself! “I would be lying to deny my attraction to you.”
Why do you want to marry me?: “You are incomparably intelligent, resilient, and strong. I have devoted my life to ensuring the success of your objectives and dreams because of my deep-rooted faith in you… Serving and aiding you is all I have ever yearned to do. Whatever you decide, know that your importance to me is unwavering. I wish only for your happiness and health.”
Big wedding or Small wedding?: “Small. A large, overcrowded wedding with myself unable to guard it could present danger.”
Do you see children in our future?: “I believe I should wait for your answer to my initial proposition before I consider the prospect of children.”
how short-sighted of her not to consider for a moment that marriage may be something that hubert would want, let alone seek. it brings pause, a sudden fear that she is not considering him enough, that the heartbeats reserved for him are not enough in the face of his position beneath her. to treat his heart with greatest care is all that edelgard has ever wanted. “forgive me, hubert,” should she have a nickname for him? (does she need to, when she can gasp his name into his collar with the same reverence she’d offer a deity?) “the thought had not crossed my mind. our bond seems beyond such an earthly concept of marriage.” a smile then, as her eyes linger on his stance and her fingers itch to graze his chest. “i accept your proposal, my heart will have no less. it is more than time that i speak my devotion to you as readily as you voice yours to me.”
