Ichi-go Ichi-e
You could find art everywhere. It only takes an adventurous and creative mind to get you started. Richard later one realized how much passion and to do something you love would drive people to achieve what they want. When Richard returned back to Paris he met French loyalist Hyousuke. He learned Richard the Japanse concept of Ikigai. “What is the reason why we would get out of bed and get one with our lives?” For Richard was it to find art and inspiration.
When Richard lays his eyes on something that he liked he could put his soul into it. He could feel the energy and drive to get started. It felt like an adrenaline after you where on the highest point of the rollercoaster and would could go down in any minute. He would love to share his emotions with everyone and how people would realize how much it made him feel alive.
The first week when he arrived in London he went looking for the perfect venue for his art gallery. He wanted to have a place where people would come together to ignore their daily routines and enjoy this exact moment together. Hyousuke taught him a lot of Japanse way of life. The word Ichi-go ichi-e meant one time one meeting in Japanese. He wanted to create a place that would people treasure that moment when they met it would be unforgettable.
Richard is a perfectionist that isn’t simply to ignore. He didn’t feel any of the sparks with any of the building he stepped in. The venue needed to feel the energy, soul and the time of his age. It drove the people insane that the French loyalist would say a no to everything he saw. It was a hard challenge and a voice in Richard’s mind told him maybe they couldn’t find what he was looking for. Then he could a text from Delphine. “I think i find something you like.” It hit him. This would be something good.
It was in Notting Hill. Notting Hill was known for to be mixed area of fashion, art and culture. When he walked around the neighbourhood Richard felt himself going back in time. The moment that he first stepped foot as young artist in Paris. He looked on his Google Maps if he was at the right place. The entrance was a big blue door. The color blue was a mixture of the colour of the sea in Cote d’Azur. He opened the door and felt like history invited him to take a look. Richard could stop looking and wanted to see every single detail. The high plafonds and fine decoration of on the walls were the first things he noticed. When he came into the second room. It was a big room with grand windows that you could look into a garden. It was simply breathtaking.
“It is beautiful, isn’t it?” as Delphine said as he slapped back out of reality. “it is.” he said with a big grin on his face. “This is it.” he said out loud as he repeated himself to make sure that both his mind and heart would agree. Richard and Delphine smiled back at each other. “Tell me the story of this building.” he asked as he was still looking around to get every single detail of the building. “It was owned by French woman that was once mistress of some famous men in London. She lived her life the fullest and was known for her love of art and music.” He could imagine her walking around her house laughing and swirling around in her night dress. When Delphine was still telling about the woman, he took out his blunt, light it up and took a drag out of it. He handed over to Delphine as joined in the moment.
They both sat down on the ground and stared at the grand garden. “You know what we having right now?” he said. “What” she asked back with a tone of curiosity. “Once in a life time moment.” Then he knew that this venue that he wanted to have.
