#ICosplayBecause I like them! I love this project! Safe to say I don't really look like any characters in general, mostly due to my Cleft and Palate which I was born with. It's only been in the last 3-4 years that my confidence has grown to be able to portray characters I really love, like Ariel, who is a character I have always identified with but never thought I could be, and when I finally did become her, it was such an amazing experience, and I was so happy to have such a positive response! Also characters like Cruella, who I look nothing like, but I adore. Her characterisation and clothing, and her love of fashion and aesthetic constantly inspires me into portraying her, in fact she's pretty much my favourite to be! 💋 Thank you to @itsginnydi for creating this tag! 😁❤️👏🏻

Spread a little bit of love and positivity as well. 💕 With that said, I want to challenge cosplayers to really reflect on one thing: why do you cosplay? ✨ I cosplay for many reasons, but I cosplay because it not only makes me happy, it brings happiness to others. Judy Hopps is one of my favorite characters ever. I was having fun, hopping around WonderCon, and this little girl got so excited. She didn't run to the princesses, she ran to me. The expression on her face was the most innocent, beautiful thing. We talked, and we talked, and discussed Nick, and all Judy's adventures, then asked to pet my ears. The simple joys people can bring to others is so beautiful. Not only did that little girl walk away on cloud nine, I did as well. 💙 I cosplay because it brings out the beauty and joy in life, to myself and to others. Why do you cosplay? Share your story, spread the love and joy, my friends 💜💙❤️💛💚 #ICosplayBecause ... I LOVE THIS. And I cannot give it enough ❤️'s to show my appreciation, so I decided to share it via repost. I too cosplay because it makes me happy, it makes others happy, & it makes for some absolutely wonderful memories. In the past 2 years, I've had the absolute delight of children wanting their pictures with me in cosplay as Honey Lemon or a Pokémon trainer or Elsa, & it's an honor to be able to bring those characters to life for the little ones. 💕 I've met friends through cosplay, & it's possibly the most low-stress way to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. Cosplay can truly bring people together. As an artist, I love the thrill of crafting & finding just the right pieces to put a new cosplay together. I love embodying the characters I love & being able to express the interest in acting/theatre I was always too shy to pursue. Lastly, I've grown more confident in myself as a person in the last few years, & I know that cosplay played a role in that. Put all those things together & it's no wonder so many people pursue this magical hobby. ✨
