with @idjiae, pro.j episode 2
aroon likes easy, uncomplicated things. he likes to figure things out at first, likes simple relationships. with his first girlfriend things were simple at first; she was pretty, a gentle personality and his parents liked her, they liked how the two teens matched, what a pretty picture they made. she was an addition to the overall frame of perfection his life was in. it was easy, it was good.
until he met her brother.
trainee life has never been easy, but it is simple. it is made of routine and that aroon can deal with. at first he was afraid of traveling to korea, living amongst other boys. what if one of them was like that one from back home? what if one of them knew aroon was different? but no one was like that boy and no one had the time to pay attention to aroon to see his differences, not at least past surface level.
( “you’re the pretty boy type,” one of the other boys told him once and aroon froze in his place. “you look soft. the girls must like it.”
yeah, the girls. )
there is just one girl now. han jiae. she reminds aroon of his girlfriend because things with her are easy and simple, but she is prettier, too pretty to waste her time with him, aroon knows. but he still likes her – not the way he should, but maybe if he tries harder enough he will. it’s difficult to spend time together when they are both training, difficult to have dates when they are not allowed to leave, or this is what aroon tells himself.
he is not surprised with the talking about her after the show starts airing, he knows jiae has everything to be a star: she has the looks, the skills and the charisma to make it far, but mostly she has the desire to finally leave the proverbial midas dungeon and debut already. if anyone deserves to win that show and be on that group then this person is jiae.
it’s easy to find her because aroon knows her well, knows what goes through her head. even if these days they mostly talk instead of kissing he still likes to think any time together is better than any time apart. she is sitting on her own on a crowded room and aroon walks towards her. her beauty, even now, when she has no makeup on and looks tired, would be intimidating to anyone else, but aroon is not the type to be scared of beautiful girls.
“hey princess,” he sits down besides her, closer than he should, he knows, but close enough so everyone knows what goes on between them. “you look tired, you should get some rest. wanna lay your head on my shoulder?” a bold question when there are cameras everywhere, but aroon hopes she can at least appreciate the offer, even if she refuses it.
