Identity Project: Where Genealogy Meets Awesome!
The Identity Project is an Undergraduate research project and documentary series that will feature students of color at CU Boulder. This project will trace students' ancestral lineage in efforts to provide students of color with a sense of identity and a framework as they seek to understand their holistic self.
+ Bringing awareness about and the study of Genealogy to underrepresented populations at CU Boulder.
+ Providing representation of underrepresented populations at CU Boulder tracing their genealogy through film.
+ Inspire underrepresented populations at CU Boulder to recognize unique social identity from ancestral history.
+ To showcase the intersection between ones ancestry and their present "Black Experience" on campus.
Cycle 1: The Black Experience is the first cycle of the Identity Project, diving into the complexities of what it means to be "black" on this campus and how complex being black is in itself. This cycle will shed light on the variations and similarities of the "Black" experiences shared by students of color.
