Reposted from @indiadesignworld #IDWSpotlight on Designer’s Homes The New Delhi home of architect Kapil Aggarwal, the principal at Spaces Architects @ka, dwells in a 45-year-old barsaati and is filled with colour and handpicked art. Project: Krisha’s Residence 2/3 Designed by: Spaces Architects @ka @spacesarchitects.ka Photographs: Bharat Aggarwal @bharataggarwalphotography Location: New Delhi Area: 1,500 sq ft Principal architect: Kapil Aggarwal Design team: Pooja Aggarwal (interior stylist), Pawan Sharma, Arvind Pal Singh (site head) and Dharmendra Kumar (site engineer) The design intent Kapil wanted to keep a fine balance between the two worlds which existed in this barsati... guaranteeing a distinct identity to both of them. Also light and shadow are kept together in their ambiguity and plurality, without sacrificing one at the expense of the other. Colour, and lot of them, vibrant and positive, was the core design element which rules the house. As the architect also collects artworks, he wanted them to be showcased all around the house. “The impression of a colour and the message it conveys is of utmost importance in creating the mood and ambiance that supports the functions of this house in a positive manner,” Kapil says. #idw #indiadesignworld #idwresidences #idwhomes #spacesarchitectsatka #bharataggarwalphotography #newdelhihome #newdelhiresidence #contemporary #colourfulhome #lightandshadow #artisticresidence #interiordesign interiordesignphotography #interiordesigners #architectshome #newdelhi (at Delhi, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFhomlKJr-V/?igshid=jy51kx8ym1x0
