This hypothetical is highly illogical and while I do not like it, I will answer for your amusement.
While I am compelled to follow the philosophy that the needs of the many out way the needs of the few, I find a special exception and responsibility for my captain. Though, as a Vulcan I also have responsibly and a duty for my planet. These are my personal struggles with this predicament.
Thinking logically to solve this dilemma, separation of emotional connections with the variables is necessary. Seeing Vulcan as any populated planet, and James Kirk as any human male. Weighing out the consequences of one life versus a whole race and culture is quite... imbalanced.
And while saving Planet Vulcan from destruction, I will be killing my Captain. Do not inform him of my decision, though he would understand.
