this is a post about ~teens and NSFW content~

we believe that teens should be able to easily access pornographic, kink, and fetish material.

Why?

Because if they aren't, they'll find a way to do it anyway. They'll lie about their age, they'll bypass filters, they'll make their own spaces.

How do we know?

We did all of that and more. And almost everyone we know has done similar.

Teens are interested in sexuality. They're horny, they're hormonal. If you don't give them ways to explore that, they'll just do it in more dangerous ways. Ironically enough, giving kids easy access to this shit is almost certainly the best way to stop predators -- because it's no longer a tool to use against the kid in question, and they're in less sketchy spaces.

When you force an activity into the shadows, you create opportunities for abuse. Always.

I'm sure people are going to bring up things like age of consent, and I know we're going to be asked about it at some point.

To tell y'all the truth, we don't know where we stand on it. I'm not entirely sure if we're well enough informed to talk about it beyond saying "18/16 is an arbitrary number which means next to nothing developmentally, but I don't know if there's a better system for this beyond outright removing age of consent as a legal thing and replacing it with stronger and better enforced rape and general consent laws"
