What is your happiest memory? I'd have to say my 17th birthday. My mom's friend let us stay at her house in Sea Girt, and that morning, my sister had to go to school, so I woke up after she and my mom had left and I spent the whole morning riding my bike in Manasquan. I don't know why it's this memory I chose, but I feel happy every time I think about this moment.
Who is your favorite author? I hate to admit it, but I don't read much, because something always distracts me when I try to. I guess I'd choose Neil Gaiman, because I read two of his novels and really enjoyed them both, and I'd be happy to read another one.
Describe something that has heavily influenced your life. I guess Trent Reznor's music. His DIY ethic in songwriting and production was probably the first thing to make me want to pursue music.
What is the last song you listened to? "Devil's Arcade" by Bruce Springsteen.
What is the longest song you know all the lyrics to? "New York City Serenade," once again by Bruce Springsteen.
How long have you been on Tumblr? Since April of 2011, after Zoe urged me to join.
If you could pick anything as your occupation, what would you pick? Of course, I'd choose to be a songwriter or music producer. It's something I already love doing, and I hope I can do it professionally once I'm out of college.
Are you content with your life right now? If not, what would you change? For the most part, I'm satisfied with my life, but there's one thing I really want right now, and that would be to actually see some of my friends while I'm home. I've been unbearably lonely for the last three weeks.
Is there something you are looking forward to? There are a lot of things. I'm looking forward to going back to Goucher, the summer, and upcoming album releases (especially the new album from Foster the People).
Are you still good friends with anyone from your childhood? Yes, two people, though I haven't seen one of them since August.
Is there anything you used to hate, but now you love? In 2009, I hated Lady Gaga. I thought her music was vapid and annoying. Then I saw her VMA performance that year, and I grew fonder of her as an artist. Then she released the music video for "Telephone" and I genuinely started to like her. And when I first heard "The Edge of Glory," I was definitely obsessed.
My Questions:
What was the last major city you went to?
Describe your best friend in one word.
What is the last album that you listened to in its entirety?
How many different jobs have you worked in your life?
What is the worst movie you've ever seen?
Name three artists/bands that you want to see in concert.
How long was the longest assignment you've ever written for school/college?
Is there a song that has sentimental value to you, and why?
Describe your favorite memory of 2012.
What is the last TV show you watched, and did you enjoy it?
What is your favorite ice cream topping?
