I think you have anon disabled, but: top three IFs and why?
I do have anon disabled because I had to deal with dumb anons and went "ANON RIGHTS ARE REVOKED" and forgot to change it since lmaoo.
Good question because I can gush about my all time favorite IF! I will say this now, Infamous does not make the cut ironically lmaoo
3) The Lonely Shore: The Lonely Shore it's an horror IF where your MC is stucked in this ghost town they had no idea it existed and they also have a younger sibling, who's the reason you're stuck in the first place!! Fun!! I'm not usually one for horror media, but my friends got really into Scarlet Hollow a couple of months ago and, since I saw it was one of the inspirations for the game, I played it and I do not regret it!!
The horror is delicious, the ROs and cast are so fun, I love when IFs still make you care for ROs you wouldn't go for. But most importantly? I ADORE THE LORE. The lore being easthaven is so fun, you can tell the author thought everyting through and I just love how the atmosphere is so 80s horror film (literally).
2) A Tales of Crown: I think most IF fans have heard or read of ATOC and like...come on! What's not to love about it! Incredible world building, amazing characters, fun stats, incredible writing, genuinely one of my all time fantasy IFs, I should really re read because it's just that good. I'm currently on a Delal run and I'm gnawing at my incubater to let me kiss her! JUST A KISS, PLEASEEEEEEE.
Another thing I love is the fact that this is a fantasy IF that uses SWANA (specifically Kurdish) mythology and culture for its story. You don't see a lot of fantasy that aren't white centric and this was a breath of fresh air. It did also lead me to do more in-depth research for Samiya/Taliyah clothing because Taliyah is actually half Sudanese so having this added layer for research helped it make it fun! (And Samiya is actually their arabic name).
I will say the only reason is not my top one is because this next fantasy IF held me in such a chokehold and made me tear up at times, I have to put it as my number one and that's:
1) God Cursed: I can't even talk about this without spoiling it too much because you truly need to go in blind for it.
God Cursed starts with MC being found by their adoptive dads and see them as they start to get a mysterious illness. Now, as an adult, that illness is slowly killing them and they need to find a cure when they've got only a year left to live!
WHEN I SAY THAT THIS IF HAS HELD ME IN A CHOKEOLD. The cast? Amazing, you care for every single one of them ESPECIALLY YOUR FATHERS, I LOVE KIP AND DOV WITH ALL MY HEART, you spend little time with your best friend in story and yet you still care for him and his family, ROs you may not romance are treated with such care you can't help but still wanting to talk to them and they are all so important to the plot, WHATEVER THE FUCK HAPPENED IN CHAPTER 7, CHAPTER 7 HELD ME AND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE AT THE LAST POSSIBLE SECOND AND I CAN'T EVEN TALK ABOUT IT BECAUSE IS SUCH A HUGE SPOILER BUT OH MY GOD OH MYYY GOD. Also the smut scenes are so sexy, the hookups in chapter 7? Wooowie!! THOSE WERE HOT
I've replayed it like, idk 5 times? I have specific saves for Taliyah and their siblings, I MADE WARDROBE FOR IT, I LOVE THIS GAME WIT ALL MY HEART, I'M HYPING IT TO THE HELL AND BACK AND THE EXTRAS ON PATREON ARE ALSO SOOOO GOOD, The lore of some characters that you learn? Love it, badass, I'm holding the entire cast so gently, these are my BELOVEDS.
...Anyways yeah, God Cursed is very good and I think everyone should read it. It's only flaw is that the first 3 chapters are kinda hard to go through but afterwards is so so worth it, especially after chapter 7, chapter 7 killed me personally.
I'd say that yeah, these are all the IFs I've loved and enjoyed, I do want to give an honorary mention to cantata and college tennis: origin story, CTOS helped me a lot with Pandora's character and it is just a fun read, but I also apprecciate it doesn't shy away from racism and transphobia in sports. Cantata may be low fantasy but it is also a fun read and I love its themes on genocide and imperalism, the way it handles them and how much care the author is putting into it. Also I'm biased becauase the setting is inspired by Italian renaissance and there are italian words and I'm italian so of course I have biased for it lol.
Thank you for the ask!! This is too long lol
