Given everything to have risen in the last few days, it was surprisingly easy to move. Perhaps it was her body proceeding on autopilot now that the mind was too distracted to properly operate. Everything she did oddly felt natural, but at the same time numb. Like she wasn't even all there. Merely a doll being controlled by some powerful entity.
The aftermath of a broken chord. The false calm after the storm.
A blessing, a gift, she managed to push it from her mind long enough to focus on this one task. The only task that now mattered to her. What happened several days ago was still fresh in her mind. She doubted it would ever fade. Even years from now, it would remain as clear as the moment it happened.
But right now, now, feeling bad for something she couldn't help would get her nowhere. What she had to do now, what she'd chosen to do even before Aiden's little scheme, required deep attention. And better she complete this before too much time passed and Aiden caught wind only to foil her schemes.
No doubt--no doubt what she planned now would only sour their relationship further. If such was even possible.
As long as the King continued to serve his country right, as long as this aided her motherland, it didn't matter how their relationship crashed to the ground, nothing but a violent flame. There wasn't any repairing their relationship now anyways. No reason to hold back.
She called upon the Knight that very morning.
Sir Xander Cormac,
Come to me at two hours passed noon. I shall be in the study. I have a very important matter to discuss with you

was all she wrote in her message to him. Hopefully he would have gotten it. Hopefully, he would oblige. Hopefully, this didn't end as badly as everything else had.
