Black Panther

So I saw Black Panther again with my sister this time. After the movie she went on about how they were pulling the white guilt thing and retribution for Africans. I didn’t really get that from the movie, I got that Erik doesn’t care for whites or anyone who would stand in his way. I mean I feel like this is the kind of thing that sets us back . I don’t feel like the movie was a big middle finger to whites ( I’m white myself) or that the think we should pay for something our ancestors did.

What our ancestors did was bad but slavery had been around for thousands of years. When a kingdom conquered another kingdom they normally took those people as slaves. It was the way things were and it was terrible, don’t get me wrong.

If we are going to blame an entire race on what their ancestors did then we are taking a step back from everything. We will never move forward as a human race if we will hold grudges for things that did not happen to us personally.

All in all, I still love Black Panther and think T’Challa was right when he said we need to stop looking at our differences and look more at what brings us together.
