It was her first day of school, and for Octavia who had been excited for the first real adventure in her sixteen years, it had been a disappointment so far. Being home-schooled by her mother and later on, her big brother, the brunette had yearned for the freedom that came with going to the local high school. Even the trip with the school bus had seemed like some wondrous journey. 

Really, it was the people mostly that were giving her a hard time. The class rooms and libraries even looked better than anything she'd imagined, but the kids were cruel and treated her like some sort of freak simply because she'd been home schooled and joined later in the year; Being the new girl wasn't anywhere as easy as she'd hoped, even if she'd kept each of Bellamy's tricks in mind and used them at the given opportunities. They still hated her. All except for this quiet girl who didn't seem to care whether or not she was even there. 

Looking around the class room for a free seat for her last period Biology class, she huffed at the routine she was getting used to. Everyone would either make sure they were flanked by friends on both sides, or their book bag would take up the empty seat. school kids were ridiculous, she concluded as she rolled her eyes at a blond boy and tried to keep her temper in check. Bell had told her not to give in, that there were better things they could remember her by on her first day.

Taking the seat next to the quiet girl, she gave the other her best smile before leaning closer "Could I read with you? I don't have all my books yet."
