Icarus Wings ( Follower Title)
More than anything, I wanted to flee this place. Sprout wings from my back, and head straight to space. Lift my toes from the dirt, take flight and soar. Participate in the storm, fly through its now open door. Escape all my troubles, fore they are manmade. Float amongst the clouds, resting in the shade. And then one day, my wishes came true The wings of an angel, from my back they finally grew. Instantly, I take off going as high as I could, But as I soon found out it was higher than I should. The giver or life, warmth, and light The sun was downfall and bringer of plight. Melted my heavenly regalia, burned the wings from back. Free falling, crashing into the black. Death by descent, to Earth I return back. Drowning in a figurative sea of woe. Unable to escape this literal sea, until I suffocate slow.
