Well, I really, really don't know what exactly happened in the fandom. But how it seems to me, someone posted a hate post with ikevil tag, having some Darius thing in it, and spoke shitty things about him and some others and the game.

This post is for that person who posted that and caused a fire in the fandom.

First of all, I am yet to read what that person wrote in the post and what is their mindset, because I always avoid this typa rant things on online. But what they wrote were not sweet things, so must step in to defend my favourite game.

At first, I should tell you what I know till this post is written. It seems, they wrote a hate post for ikevil, heavily concerning about Darius and the dubcon/noncon things in ikevil, speaking ill about the villains thing, too. Also it seems they can not stand the sexual approach in the game, so they just posted a post to show their hate. I know at least this, if there is some additional thing, please correct me. (I am yet to read the original post. I searched about one hour, but could not find it. If anyone have it, please share with me if I write anything wrong).

First:

I don't accuse your taste. You definitely can be uncomfortable by the dark themes of ikevil, hate a suitor and many more. But....you should know that you are not the only one experiencing the game.

Ikevil has a small, but really strong fanbase. We love ikevil, enjoy it, wait for new contents, cry for the characters, love the contents, discuss about them, appreciated the writing....do everything a fanbase does. Our tastes are really different! I still love some bloggers here and follow them, who loves Jude and Elbie or love other suitors different than mine. Why, I never saw them arguing with anyone for this! I never argued with anyone for their interests, too!!!!

Assuming your post involves Darius, believe me, you are not the one who will dislike him. He is a real villain. I am still waiting for his route in en server and savor the thrill, so I still did not read fan-translation. So I don't have much idea about him.

But!!!

You just cannot post a hate post and light fire in the fandom. You hate ikevil—fine. Hate suitors— fine. Hate the theme— also fine! BUT IT IS NOT FINE TO TALK BAD ABOUT THE GAME AND MAKE PEOPLE SAD!!!!!

You might think, "Why it would be sad?" Then I should ask, what will you do if your favourite game will be trolled? Will you be so happy that you will dance a waltz? And there are many sensitive people here who love ikevil and being really upset for your post!

You just should know that an otome game is not only a game. It's EMOTION. You just can not hurt our emotion by setting a fire and make us upset and then vanish like being irresponsible!

And if you hate ikevil, then what? We fandom did not bind you. Just stop playing the game! Try other options! JUST LEAVE US!!!!

Now, another thing. Have you never read any book or watched any movie which contains SA, murder, violence, gore?? I can not imagine a person that innocent in this modern world with internet. Even I started reading thriller and suspense genre from age 10!!! I read my first adult-cast book at 12!!! But I never had any problem even then!!! Are you a newborn child or what?

Otome games are more like novels than game. It has violence like a mystery vibe. I CAN NOT IMAGINE YOU NEVER SAW ANY VIOLENCE IN BOOKS OR MOVIES!!!! So what is the problem with ikevil??

If you are that innocent, I will say, please see your way. We fanbase don't need as pure heart like you. Remember, ONLY IKEVIL IN ALL THE CYBIRD GAMES HAS WARNING THAT IT IS FOR MATURE AUDIENCE!!!!

If you are not mature enough, just leave. You are making our experience bad.

Edit: I learnt last night that you (the main blogger the of this fire) posted screenshots of kurishiri without credit. You are too immature to be in internet. Hole up in your home and learn how to respect people by yourself.

I am usually a chill person, but this thing made me too much upset, I ranted. But I am not sorry for my anger.

Ikevil Rant:

Is it just me or have some of my fellow robins adapted some english words the game uses?😭

For me it’s mostly Jude’s “yers”, “loon”, and “daft”. At first I didn’t even know what that meant until I looked the meanings up and wow is Juju very mean LMAO.

Anyways yea, playing ikevil has taught me LOTS of english words despite me having english as my first language HEHE~

Anyways, do my fellow robins feel the same as well?

I think one of the worst parts about the MC in ikevil, her falling so in love and changing so quickly regardless of the route/LI/plot, is directly related to one of the most ridiculous parts of the setup in general: the one month deadline.

In ikepri, a month makes sense: they literally don't have a king and a month is probably the absolute maximum amount of time they can give a Belle. So while stuff feels rushed, at least it makes sense WHY it's rushed.

And Belle mostly just has to be like "wow, this guy has a tragic backstory, but look how great he actually is" within that month, whereas the ikevil MC normally has to be like "wow, this guy has a fucked up backstory, magic powers that might really mess with me, a destined horrible death, and can only have some sort of unhealthy relationship because of those things, and also he's a murderer."

But, in ikevil, they literally could have given her three months, six months, a year, even.

The missions she often does could easily each take weeks instead of a few days, with the off-screen surveillance, fact checking, etc etc (which the side characters normally do anyway), and they wouldn't actually have to adjust the scripts much, just give a throwaway comment here or there to show the passage of time (which they already do a bunch, but normally for hours/a day or two).

"But what about if she wants to go back to her normal life?" I'm pretty sure most routes show she's too far in after a week or two, anyway. Like how do you even go back to such a life after knowing such secrets of the world? (Nevermind the privileges and stuff she gains)

Also, they give her a cover, so it's not like she'd have to explain where she was. In that time period just normal travel can take weeks, some extra months isn't going to make or break anything, especially since there's multiple times within different routes/events where the post office is still understaffed, so likely she'd just slot back into her old job even after months away.

"What about the restrictions on her?" I mean...what restrictions? There's multiple routes where she leaves the castle alone or stays out on her own before the month is out, it's clear that they start trusting her fairly early on (and why not? they've got multiple experts on reading people and an actual lie detector) and don't really care except insofar as her own safety is concerned, which honestly in some of the routes would still be an issue even if she left and cut ties with them.

Instead of her falling in love in like a week and then by the end of the month having already completely accepted whatever weird fetish and gruesome death/suicide pact she's invited (or all that shit with Alfons), they could have had it take more time. Instead of cramming so many encounters into a single day, they could have spread them out (instead of having almost everyone recover from like getting stabbed in a few days they could have lengthened that, too, lmao).

A lot of people complain about rushed routes that don't have enough time to show either how the MC feels or the LI, or both. That isn't just a constraint of the chapter limit (which, yeah, is an issue, but I don't think most players want to have to do even more chapters for a normal route, though there's some validity to how short some of the chapters are), but also of how much they can have the characters change in just a month. William's route, for example, is more or less the starter route, but is pretty controversial because most of what they needed to show of his feelings within the route is shown instead in events, so you get people questioning whether they're even actually in love, but of course it should take him longer to express his feelings given his hangups even if the MC is speedrunning things.

(Not even getting into stuff like the amount of time certain things they do would actually take with the technology of the day, or her learning enough sign language to have entire conversations in seemingly a few days, or that half of them have real jobs that they couldn't always have her around for, and stuff like that)
