Calloused fingers worked their way up and down the neck of the guitar, a new tune forming at his fingertips with every experimental pluck of the strings. How it started as a simple, repetitive strum and a tune dancing about in the back of his head. Something of a softer nature, a melody one might consider romantic- once he got the feelings out in proper lyrics to convey how he truly felt. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t inspired by him- the man who seemed to just arrive at his doorstep one day, and somehow find a way into his home- and his heart.
To think all it took was a single job- V dragging him along- and now they’d bloomed into something far more than he could have imagined. As if he’d woke from a long slumber, moving through the motions of life but never really living outside his work. Performing was one thing, but to have muse? Another whom inspired him was something he’d not felt in decades.
It was why he’d grown to care so much, falling into what felt like a routine in seeing him each day. Though he knew he was busy, out running jobs and doing god knows what- he couldn’t help but worry when the sun would set and he’d not hear a word. He trusted V, but also knew trouble was bound to stir whenever the two were together. No texts, no calls, meant something was going on, what he had no clue.
Why his ears were so quick to prick up at the sound of an opening door, a palm laying sharp and fast against the cords of the guitar to let silence fill the space, sitting up from his spot on the couch to try and steal a peek at the man in the other room.
“ ‘Bout time you got home, been waiting all damn day to see you. Didn’t text me back, so I recorded the new episode of your favorite show in case you wanted to-” Footsteps could be heard in response, bringing him to pause, setting aside his instrument, as a feeling of worry washed over him. Not even a hello? It was enough to make the musician rise from his seat, calling for him as he followed after the sound of him.
“Hey- are you good-?” // @ikisudama sc.
"𝐇𝐄𝐘, I was just thinking... maybe instead of running off tonight with V to get shot- chased by the cops or killed- you can I could spend a little time together. Know you’re busy and all but...” Hands moved against the broad expanse of his chest, finding their way up and around to the back of his neck where fingers laced together as he leaned onto his toes. “Maybe you could do this one time, for me. Either that or take me with you- I think you and I both know that wouldn’t go well though.”
❛ i’ve been having these awful nightmares, like i’m dying. like someone’s killing me, it’s probably just stress but... it’s unsettling, you know? ❜

confusion writes itself clearly across her face and she sighs . she’s still injured , there’s little she can do to cover it up right now . sure , she could take the time to find a ripperdoc , but the delay was not worth it . “ you asked me to . ” she states upon her arrival , appearing in front of him in this state wasn’t ideal but it would have to do right now . she’d let oda live for the sake of him requesting it , she hopes she won’t regret it . side burns , battle wounds and proof of a hard earned fight liter her skin . “ what’s wrong , what happened now ? ” but she’s not focused on that , she’s more worried about why she’s here . “ i thought we had it all figured out .. did something go wrong ? what do i need to do ? ”

The Fool Who Touched Us All
...Remember the day we met? First time I saw you, it was match point and set Never told you, was never the right time That in that moment, I knew you'd be mine I built a vision of your future memories Where you whisper, open up your heart Reveal the place where I once had a heart I listen to the stories I wrote down Thinking of you, for you - this story...
The song the fans could only guess the context of was sung, acapella, in front of V’s friends and chosen family. The tempo was slower, but not by much. Kerry’s outfit was still somewhat flashy (V would have wanted to him remain true to himself); a plain black, matte leather jacket with gold lapels and collar fit over top a black, long sleeved shirt which tucked into his tight-fit jeans (also black, because such was the occasion for the color). His boots had golden-tipped toes and they ran sleek up to his knees.
This day he knew was coming, and there was never a way he could have prepared himself for the way V’s death would rip into his very soul. The man had brought him so much growth and joy that of course he cherished. It didn’t hurt any less, though, to bear the weight of his absence.
Kerry’s throat felt tight. Earlier he had tweaked the cybernetics in his throat to keep from wavering. And despite the strain of his biological muscles threatening to break his hardware, the song was performed without imperfection. After his song, and after a moment of silence where he stood head bowed and grasping for the words, he spoke to the others observing the memorial for V.
“V...has touched a lot of us,” Kerry paused to gaze upon the gathering, “I uhm...yeah, I met V during a tough time. My shit wasn’t together. I was pissed off at everything. I mean, my stuff seems so small compared to what V had goin’ on but...” Kerry already felt like he was rambling. There were so many things to say and unless it was a song, he wasn’t sure how to say them without pages of scrap paper and a pencil.
The rocker’s gaze listed off to the right where a picture of V sat on top of a table. He almost wished he hadn’t looked. With the back of his hand he brushed away looming tears.
“I just knew, you know? That he was special. That he cared a fuck of a lot for his friends. For me. Don’t think I’ve ever been as touched by someone. I...loved him. A lot. I’m going to miss him everyday, but I’d never change the fact that I got to know him.” Kerry stepped off to the right, moving slowly towards the table and removing one of his gold necklaces. Over the right corner of the frame he hung the chain -- a piece of himself to leave for V. Kerry brushed his fingers over the picture, tracing V’s cheek and remembering the warmth he’ll never again get to feel.
“Love ya, kid.”
He didn’t know hardly any of these other people -- V had such a vast influence it was...impressive. It made Kerry feel warm, oddly enough, that all these people were here for V. To say their goodbyes. To remember him. Nobody like V should be forgotten, and it was one of the few moments in Kerry’s life where he’d be so humbled by one person.
Kerry leaned against a wall, out of the way, and lit a cigarette while the next person said their final goodbyes. It was here he finally allowed tears to trickle down his cheeks.
