IKUD how does Mikey feel on the kids not being quads like him and his bros, additionally that Raphael is the oldest and that Leo and Donnie are the same age

It's weird for him for like! A week! Because he meets them when they're all freshly mutated and around the same size, but then Raph suddenly grows twice as big as the rest of them, and 2k12Mikey(Tee) is like ???? But Splinter calmy explains that he remembers Raph having already hatched before the rest of them, with little orange being the last one to hatch, right before they escaped, and it kinda throws Tee's whole world on a slanted axis.

But the few months following all them living together and learning the ropes of raising baby turtles, Tee comes to love the fact that they're all different species of turltes, and they all have their own little personalities that are sometimes the same but sometimes VERY different then what he's used to, and it helps ease some of the tension in Tee's chest about being around another iteration of his brothers. Its easier to breathe around the babies when he's not constantly comparing himself or his lost brothers to these perfect little gremlins he can carry in his arms all at once.

SO OBVIOUSLY NO BECAUSE HE LOVES ALL THESE BOYS EQUALLY AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALLY LIKE THERE IS NO "FAVORITE" ...but... but Leo DOES become his special little guy. Because all the boys remind him so much of his brothers, in odd and new ways then what he expected, but little Leo reminds 2k12 Mikey of HIMSELF the most.

He sees this funny, sweet little kid who hides all his insecurities behind jokes and puns, a walking poster child for smiling depression the same way 2k12 Mikey is, and he recognizes all those self-destructive qualities of himself, of self-worth issues of never being good enough and throwing him own safety away just to be WORTH something to his family, in this tiny Leo and immediately go "History is NOT repeating itself on my fucking watch!!!"

Just wanted to let you know I love your Italian keeps us dancing au! So much it’s such a cool and cute concept!❤️ is there anything bout this au that you would love to share with us? Eg: how did 12!Mikey kick rise splints into being a better dad or will 12!Mikey ever get reunited with his bros etc etc

First of all, THANK YOU for liking this au, I'm honestly SHOCKED that so many people like it already! These silly goofballs mean SO MUCH TO ME so it makes me really happy to hear your kind words! SECOND, THERE IS SO MUCH I WANT TO SHARE WITH PEOPLE!!! IF I HAD THE TIME I WOULD BE WRITING WHOLE NOVELS WORTH OF CONTENT! Alas! I will satisfy the need by answering the questions you've asked!

I say this with my whole entire heart that I REALLY DO LIKE RISE SPLINTER! LETS MAKE THAT VERY CLEAR! But this poor man was going through SO MUCH and that was BEFORE he even got mutated. There was so much grief towards his own life that I am NOT surprised by the kind of father he became towards these super intelligent, hyperactive little kiddos who needed so much of his time and energy and attention and care. There was SO MUCH standing in the way of him being a good parent, and I'm not using this as an excuse, but I understand why his depression was just too powerful and loud sometimes, and unfortunately, his babies being so young, couldn't/didn't know how to compete against it.

But then here comes 2k12 Mikey, 16 and freshly traumatized after having been ripped away from his own family and tossed into some strange dimension he has no business in, but who's also incredibly capable and clever and cheerful and kind! Who swept into his life and carved out a place for himself and who loved his boys from day one like a force of nature that never really quite got the hang of being told 'no' before.

He out-stubborned Splinter at every turn, because Splinter needed someone to affectionately kick his ass a little, and helped him not be so alone after his entire reality as he knew it shattered. There were STILL bad days, because grief and depression don't just go away, and 2K12 Mikey was still pretty much primary caretaker, but he helped just by BEING there. By making sure Splinter got up every once and awhile, and showered, and ate, and helped with bathtime and read stories for the boys so 2k12 Mikey could run errands really fast. And it helped to have someone competent and catty and nice to talk to, and it forced Splinter to reevaluate some things, because this is a 16-year-old, freshly orphaned kid who is HELPING HIM take care of his own kids, and it forces Splinter to carve his way out of his own mental fog and be PRESENT because DAMN, he can't let this kid take care of HIM TOO ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE.

I kid you not, when I saw the 2012 mikey babysitting rise kidos I js went "WHATTT" cuz I had the same concept in my head a couple of times, but especially whenever I hear the song "fine" by lemon demon for some reason??? anywho, HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET IN MY BRAIN, BAJSBSJDVDJRHRH

I'm HONESTLY surprised no one has done an au like this before (at least to my knowledge. I know there's a couple where the older RISE boys adopt 2k12 Mikey, or other iterations adopt the RISE boys, but nothing quite like this)! So whoo hoo! Same brain there! I am shaking hands with you through the computer <3

I HAVE SOME IN THE WORKS BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH I JUST!!! *clenched fist* I ADORE the idea that 2k12 Mikey, in his sort of out of place grief of having been sent to WHO KNOWS WHERE and having no clue how to get back home or if his brothers will ever find him, he comes across these little BABIES and this depressed father and hes like, ok, I cant NOT assert myself into the situation and help out a little. (Not realizing that he's gonna be wrapped around those little green fingers for the rest of his life, hes gonna love them SO MUCH)
