                  the  dutton  ranch  was  quiet  at  night  for  the  most  part .  aside  from  the  distant  howling  of  a  wolf  and  the  guys  yelling  about  a  card  game  within  the  bunkhouse .  which   brought  a  smile  to  her  considering  it  seemed  like  they  were  having  a  lot  of  fun .  she  made  her  way  into  the  stable  where  the  horses  were ,  bringing  a  small  bag  of  alfalfa  cubes  for  them   and  to  see  if  gambit  was  settling  in  well .  and  he  was .  once  she  was  finished ,  she  sat  down  on  top  of  a  bale  of  hay .  so  much  had  changed  .  especially  after  learning  about  how  much  damage  her  father  has  caused  to  the  people  here .  finding  out  how  twisted  her  family  truly  was .   honestly ,  she  was  surprised  but  the  more  she  thought  about  it ,  it  made  sense  considering  the  requests that  her  father  and  uncle  brought  to  her  table .  which  was  the  very  reason  why  she  quit  her  job  at  the  bank .   she  had  done  some  pretty  sketchy  things  just  for  their  sake  but  never  once  asked  why .  and of  course  her  father  would  always  tell  her  it  was  to  help  build  the  casino  and  the  community .  it  was  naive  of  her  to  not  have  asked .  

                  eyes  moved  towards  gambit  who  was  sticking  his  held  out  of  his  stall  when  travis  walked  in .  if  there  was  anyone  here  aside  from  two  people ,  it  was  travis  she  felt  more  open  to  talk   with .   her  eyes  moved  towards  him   as  he  spoke .  “  i  know .  “  harper  replied  softly .   “  and  thank  you .  i’m  alright  though .  i  promise .  just  realizing  how  quiet  this  place  is  at  night .  it’s  kinda  a  whole  different  world  compared  to  during  the  day  time . “   a soft  chuckle  left  her .  “  i’m  shocked  you’re  not  mingling  with  the  other  guys . “

       “   hey chief,   “   haskell’s bald head was stomping around, ordering the perimeter to be closed off from the newest bunch of transplant protesters. sheriff might be stitched across his shoulder but ryan didn’t bother jumping until a dutton said how high. which they both knew. and it looked like the local police had their half assed hands full of college kids && cheap paint again so he figured an elbow in the dull brown jacket of the nearest officer wouldn’t get noticed. she wasn’t the chief or the sheriff but cute was cute && the sun was smiling on him today. he raised an opened hand towards her face, unbandaged but the knife long gash across his palm gleamed fresh && angry in the morning light.   “   does this look infected to you?   “

Fuck these outbreaks. Fuck this virus. Seriously, how in the hell did they allow another one of these damn viruses to get loose and become an outbreak throughout the city? It was beyond her. This wasn’t the first outbreak she had been in but working with S.T.A.R.S. it was a whole new ball game and she was enjoying her new job. Sure, being a Navy SEAL was great but after her accident and becoming mutated... Oh yea, this was a lot more fun.

Everything seemed to be going great so far.... Although, she wasn’t be expecting to get trapped within the first hour of her deployment within the city... and especially with someone who worked for the Umbrella Corp. That was the furthest thing from her mind.

Kekipi laid down a map on a shipment crate that was sitting around in the warehouse. She lifted a marker to her mouth, taking a hold of the cap and pulling the marker away t open it before marking areas that had already been scouted over and areas that still needed to overlooked.

She thought she heard something.. or someone nearby within the warehouse with her. She raised a brow, looking around as she listened out for what it could be. Having a feeling it was one of the infected just mindlessly walking around, she turned her attention back to her map. If wandered in the room with her, she’d take care of it.

Slipping into the seat across from Ryder silently and making herself comfortable, Celia wastes no time in raising her omni tool to link to the menu of the small establishment. Her fingers move deftly across the screen, though her gaze is focused else where.

A tall man approaches, and the woman quickly looks to the woman across from her and murmurs, “Please, pretend you know me-”

He knew he had enough faces && a hell of a lot of fight left to keep his own word but how many more could he throw dirt over before he was the one who started to choke on it? could he still manage the shell if Kayce finally broke the reins that kept pulling him back or if it was Beth setting her neck under the guillotine to bleed in his name for the land she didn’t want? he cut kay a sharp sideways glace, her losses no less tangible than his own && sighed deeply before he spoke again. his voice was quiet but deep as the men in the barn behind them untethered the horses && unwound from an honest day’s work.  “   give me a good horse, good whiskey && i’ll leave that cure to the ones who have time for it.   “
