Ever since Shockwave’s original invitation, Tarantulas had been alternating between obsessing over the thought or avoiding it entirely. His initial shock had faded rapidly, leaving behind a buzzing sense of anticipation - should he accept the offer, or not? Why? And what would it mean, either way?
The chronometer was ticking, and although avoidance seemed to be his primary tactic thus far, Tarantulas couldn’t dodge the thought forever. He needed to give Shockwave a list of times for touring the lab if he wanted to retain any chance of being able to work with him.
The solution to his problem arrived in the form of Shockwave himself making an appearance at Soundwave’s movie night. Not that Tarantulas could be sure it was the same Shockwave who’d contacted him - he suspected not, as a matter of fact - but the mere existence of the mech was enough to tip things over the edge. That, and the content of the movie itself - it’d dredged up too many memories and fears, motivations that pushed Tarantulas to act, to choose.
He couldn’t live in fear - that’s what it’d come down to, ultimately. He couldn’t allow potential complications with Prowl, for example, or his own anxious adoration of Shockwave - no, he couldn’t allow those things to get in the way of achieving his goals. Not only would this alliance help make said goals come to fruition, but the very idea of working with Shockwave was also one of those goals, after all - or at least it’d been a dream Tarantulas had harbored for what felt like an eternity.
Tarantulas would do it. He’d accept the invitation. No dithering, no dilly-dallying. He’d offer Shockwave a few timeslots for a tour of the labs, yes, but he’d accept the invitation first - no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
A ping to Shockwave, followed by a hurried-sounding comm.
«My apologies for the delay in contacting you, hyeh. It’s been quite the circus over here lately, I’m afraid. But, what I mean to say is - yes. I - I’ve been contemplating your invitation, and - quite honestly, I’m altogether too eager to collaborate with scientific-minded mecha of your caliber. That is, if the offer is still open and available.»

Depends in what aspect you are referring to as they both differ greatly regarding interfacing, hard-lining, comfort, recharge, or simply just cuddling.
Seeing as Shockwave and I have never interfaced, Tarn is ‘better’ in that regard.Hardlining is a tie.Comfort and cuddling is also a tie as they both are very warm and being wrapped in their EM fields is very calming.And as for recharge; Tarn.
