That is NiGHTS!
NiGHTS is the titular character from the games “NiGHTS into Dreams” and “NiGHTS Journey of Dreams”. They also appear in many, many other SEGA games. They are a dream jester, yes, but also a being called a “Nightmaren,” a nightmare creature created by the evil Wizeman, a being trying to take over and destroy the realm of dreams.
NiGHTS is super cool! They’re agender, meant to be “neither a boy nor a girl” in the words of the creators, and have many powers such as flight, transformation, “paralooping” (going around something in a circle makes it implode/be transported to another area) and “Dualizing,” where they can let their body be piloted by a dreamer (human) that has an Ideya of Courage. They’re a total rebel, fighting against their “father,” Wizeman, and all their “siblings,” other nightmaren like Reala, Jackle, Clawz, Donbalon, and Girania.
NiGHTS made their debut on the Sega Saturn, to cult following, and made a reappearance in their own sequel on the Wii, but mostly has been seen in cameos or unlockable easter eggs in Sonic or other SEGA games.
