Imagine being a world-famous illusionist with genuine magical power currently touring in Central City, where you meet a starstruck Cisco after foiling a robbery with your "stage" magic.
Your heart was racing with excitement as you faced off with the robber, still in your stage clothes after your show. “Didn’t expect me back yet, hmm?” you hummed, tipping your top hat. “Don’t you know it’s rude to sneak into someone’s dressing room without permission?”
He ran for you. You threw down a handful of smoke pellets from a hidden pocket in your sleeve and he tackled the air. “That’s no way to say hello, is it?” your voice was tinted with amusement as you leaned against the wall, now behind him and across the room from where you had been previously. You pulled out a deck of cards from another pocket and began to shuffle them absently, watching as he floundered to understand what had happened.
“You know, someone ought to teach the two of you some manners,” you continued, folding the cards into elaborate patterns as you moved them from one hand to another.
“Shut up, freak!” he snapped, his fist cracking across your chin before you could think to duck. You saw stars and suddenly he was grabbing your arms, forcing you to drop the cards. You rolled your eyes and let him manhandle you, listening to his muttered threats as he tied your hands. He stood back and you arched a brow dubiously, rolling your jaw to ease the pain.
“If you think tying me up is going to do anything, you clearly haven’t heard of Harry Houdini.” With a snap of your fingers, the ropes disappeared from your wrists and reappeared around his.
“What the hell-”
“Normally you’re supposed to clap but I’ll let this one slide,” your lips quirked into an amused smirk as he struggled. “That’s what you get for trying to steal from a magician, my criminal friend.” You tipped your top hat as he swore at you and gave a deep bow. You had always been the showman, perhaps too much for your own good.
You grinned as wide as Cheshire cat when a team showed up to take him away until you noticed a younger man with long hair staring at you off to one side. You arched a brow and stepped towards him. “You don’t look like your usual cop,” you observed.
His cheeks flushed pink as if he hadn’t actually planned on talking to you, “Oh, I’m, uh, my friend works forensics and he said they got a call about you and I, uh, I-”
You dipped your head and gave a mock bow, “Always a pleasure to meet a fan that isn’t trying to rob me. [f/n] [l/n], at your service.”
He took your hand and shook it, eyes twinkling with excitement, “Cisco Ramon from Star Labs. I’ve been following your career. Your illusion work is incredible. Some say you’ve even got real magic.”
Your practiced smile didn’t falter. You were a showman- you knew how to take the rumours in stride. “Of course I do. Would you like me to introduce you to Harry Potter or perhaps Gandalf?”
You decided you liked the way Cisco sounded when he laughed. “Would you like to come to my show tomorrow night, Cisco Ramon from Star Labs?” you offered suddenly. “I’ve decided that there’s something more to you than meets the eye. As a magician, I am obligated to find out what.” You flashed a wink and produced a pair of tickets seemingly from nowhere. “Feel free to bring your friend in forensics if you want to see what real magic looks like.”
His grin was answer enough to your question.
