Illyria Costume Adventure!
I just got all the fabric and things for my Illyria costume for Dragon Con. 100 dollars later (THANKS GRANDMA!), I'm raring to go, I'm just waiting on my unitard to get here. I've never done anything like this, so I'm going to photo document the crap out of it. It's going to be a big fat experiment, but I think I can manage it.

I'm really amped about this pleather. I don't think hers had such a visible snake skin pattern, but it's the best I could find, and I absolutely love the texture. I might try and wear some of the pattern off, or cover it in some way.
The cording for the arms and leg patches:
Here's the fabric for the arms. I think hers are more gold-y, but sometimes I thought they leaned towards silver. There were way more options for silver remnants, so I went with that. If I don't like it later, I may spray paint a light coat of gold to give it that golden tone.
