What happened here, was that I got a terrible cold, and needed all the vegetables in the world in order to cure myself, so went to Aryubi Express and bought all the good stuff - 2 fennel, 1 sweet red pepper, 1 aubergine, 1 head of broccoli, a knob of ginger, 1 bunch of coriander, a lemon and some Greek yoghurt. There's nothing more annoying than ill people who sit around going wah-wah-wah and not trying to actually do something about it. Do a steaming with some olbas oil. Drink hot lemon and honey. Eat a bag of clementines. Eat nothing but vegetables until it's gone. Put chilli flakes on everything to clear your bunged-up nose.
So. I whacked the oven up to 220C and in it I put aubergine sliced into 1cm rounds which I had brushed with olive oil with a pastry brush and seasoned, straight on the grill pan. In a baking tray, I put the sweet red pepper (the long thin ones) in whole, and each fennel chopped up into about 8 chunks and put olive oil on and seasoned.
While that was being blasted in the oven (I like things a bit burnt on the edges, or actually sometimes just fully carbon), I fried up some chilli flakes and the ginger chopped up very, very small. To that I added the broccoli which I had blanched, and fried it up.
I made a yoghurty sauce by zesting the lemon into it, with a clove of garlic crushed in my amazing garlic crusher http://www.amazon.co.uk/GARLIC-Garlic-Twist/dp/B000173JMS , squeezing just a teensy bit of lemon on it.
Then I piled it all up into the ridiculous big bowl-plate and drizzled the yoghurty sauce over it. It turned out that the sweet red pepper was in fact an incredibly hot Turkish chilli and I blew my head off, which was rather enjoyable actually.
