that is correct! regarding our latest admin post, we wanted to clarify that activity check would be placed on hold for the current week considering that our community has shrunk in size since we've opened. our current members have personally expressed their interests and wishes to keep the roleplay open despite the small size though aligning with our staff's intentions.

we as the staff team would like to see what we can do to keep the roleplay running even if the size of our community remains small so that we can create a space our current members can still feel encouraged to write without the overwhelming pressure or expectations of what a bigger or typical roleplay might require. we're completely open to our member's suggestions and are looking to see what we can do before we continue with any further events!

so for anyone curious or still lurking, yes we are still active! we are still taking reserves and applications! and we would love to see you and your muse if you’re interested in joining!

if a human host dies, does the alien also die or do they just leave the host for a new one?

aliens essentially just act as a parasite of their host bodies, but is an entity of its own. therefore, if the human host dies, the alien will not. as you guessed, in this situation the alien would just have to leave the body and find a new one.

we apologize for the late response on this question! i've gone ahead and listed a few ideas below. hopefully you see this, and for anyone lurking, hopefully these catch your interest as we'd love to see more alien muses around!

an alien who's very interested in very mundane or random things and their functionalities. maybe they always go around asking about normal everyday things that could almost be seen as out of the ordinary, but on the surface just seems like someone wanting to get to know the nitty-gritty details of something (ex. asking about farm tillers, or ice cream machines, or strobe lights, etc.)

an alien who's very conscious about getting caught so they act very introverted but they actually wish they could be doing a lot of things with people.

an alien who tries to act very friendly because they want to be popular and always try to organize group activities in town.

an alien who's very bad at mimicking human emotions so they're kind of off-putting to all the actual humans in town.

in turn, an alien who's kind of mastered the mimicry of human emotions so they kind of hold secret lessons for other aliens under the guise of a weekly book club meeting.

an alien on the brink of losing the job their human host had originally because they just can't figure out how to do the job correctly, jeopardizing their entire lifestyle if they were to lose the job.

hi! i'm soooo interested in this plot, i just have a few questions about the alien aspect: since the aliens take control of the brain, does that mean they have access to their host's memories or knowledge of who their host was/is? and is the host's og brain conscious of the alien taking over their body?

do aliens have access to their host's memories?

the response to this question would be a rather simple, no! once an alien takes over a hosts body from the very beginning as they're establishing their control over the human's mind to once they have full control, the alien won't be able to access the human's memory. in the same way, the human wouldn't be able to access the alien's mind or memory as the two are completely separate entities that just exist in the same body. with that, as the alien begins to gain more control, the brain will then start recognizing the alien's memories more than it does the human's and any memories retained during the alien's control will remain as the alien's.

say if an alien were to leave their hosts body, the human would have no recollection of anything that happened in-between the time that the alien had full control over their body up to the moment that they leave. the human would only be able to remember memories of before the alien abducted their body.

do aliens have knowledge of who their host was/is?

aliens also would not know anything about their host! this goes along with the lore that anyone who gets taken over an alien might suddenly become like an entirely new person. this is because the alien doesn't know how the human was before. due to the fact that they can't access the human's memories either, typically they have to slowly learn through their interactions with others or their physical surroundings to get clues as to the kind of life the human they took over used to live. even then, aliens are not restricted to attempting to live out the same life or personality the person may have had. however, they would do their best to keep things normal so that people don't find them too strange for their sudden change in demeanor.

is the host's original brain conscious of the alien taking over their body?

the answer to this question is yes! the process of an alien taking over a human's body doesn't always take immediate effect. this means that at times, a human may be conscious of what they're doing, but they wouldn't have exact control of what they're doing but they would be aware that something is happening to them slowly and gradually. and so, that means they would be able to tell that something is off and feel weird overall. depending on the alien residing within their body, the human may even see them at times if the alien chooses to show themself in anyway (reference this ask) which could lead to the human being aware that something is in fact inside them. 

basically, it mainly depends on the host and if you choose to make them connect the dots or to leave your muse in the dark with not understanding or truly aware of what’s happening to them. with this, there isn’t any known information on the aliens to the humans, so even if a muse has suspicions or saw something of the alien in their body, chances of anyone believing them saying that they have an alien inside them is zero. 

until an alien takes full control of their hosts body, both the alien and human will coexist in the brain, however only one will be able to have control at a time. this is why the human isn’t fully aware of what the alien does, likewise, the alien wouldn’t be aware of what the human does when they are conscious and have control of the brain. therefore, memory loss can be a sign of an alien invading a human’s body, but considering that memory loss in general can be caused by many different things people wouldn’t necessarily see this as a strange phenomenon but something they’d just direct people to get checked out at the doctor.

hi! im still trying to get a grasp of how to write an alien so i was wondering do the aliens have access to their host’s memories or do they just go in not knowing anything about their host and carrying on?
