There is a book with the premise of "the Crew of Light was always compromised because they had someone among them ready to sell them for their own reasons and so Dracula won" but instead of taking the logical path of it being Jonathan ready to sacrifice them and himself for his wife, the one who does it is Arthur. Supposedly because by losing Lucy (a woman he knew for a year, tops) he has nothing left to lose (his two lifelong friends whomst?) and because he desires power and Dracula can give it to him (???). The author (Kim Newman) did slip and say he did it because he loathes Arthur (hence the crappy reasoning.)

This is really, really funny to me because Arthur is probably the one who LEAST wants to deal with this supernatural bullshit

The others have their reasons and character arcs and moral dilemmas. Arthur literally just wanted to get married then had to kill his crush. Most of his contribution is throwing money around. He's THE main character that does the least. He doesn't even want power he's just There
