What you can’t see is the water rat below waiting for any fragments that may fall on the ground. The rat had watched the squirrel digging and then scampering up the stump 

This was my first walk at Hollow Ponds since January 20 Cold, but occasionally sunny day at Leyton Flats, East London, February 15, 2016
