Hi, call me Wild.

I was on a hiatus for a while due...well 2020. So maybe I should reintroduce myself.

I’m ImaginationGoneWild but you can just call me Wild. It’s a pen name I’ve used for several years now. I live in Belgium; Flemish and French are my native languages but as you can see I also know English.

But I suffer from depression, OCD, and lots of anxiety.

I’m 32 now and sick and tired of being scared all the time. I’m envious of people my age that have accomplished so much more while I’m still living with my parents ‘cause of my mental health.

I’m going to use Tumblr as a journal. Why? I don’t know. Maybe because I don’t want to feel lonely? Maybe it can help others like me? 

I also want to keep a ‘bucket list’ of achievable goals. I think that will be a fun way to conquer my fears and anxieties. Instead of dreaming of things I should actually start doing them.

Music just like books transport me. I get to explore worlds unknown and visit magical places, I might not ever get to. My recent favorite song is Gugulethu by Prince Kaybee. Nothing much get said in the song except Gugulethu but I must tell you, my blood races, my knees knock and my hips sway when that song kicks in. I transport myself to a place called Gugulethu. It’s in South Africa by the way but I know nothing about it except locating it on a map. I see myself there, with shades, sun beating down, milk soaked skin, twang flowing out of my mouth, eye lids batting left and right, hips swaying - I’m transported, to a world unknown to me and I only have a song and my imagination to take me there. I feel like one of those girls. I don’t know who they are since they are not fully described but I will make up one that fits my imagination. I’m walking the streets, having fun. I locate that heart that finds “impilo ya se lokishini” imnanzi, a yi fani na se dolobini I should know because I’m faced with a beautiful sunset, on the outskirts of Pretoria East, watching wildlife that I wish I could shoot for dinner tonight but I’m scared Kgosi Mampuru might find me a humble abode. Still it’s not Gugulethu! So as I take out my magwinya in the boiling hot oil and locate the atchaar in my cupboard, and scream to the kids, where’s the Oros?
