You wake up with two arms embracing you tight, the familiar position making you smile as you feel a warm breath on your neck. You quickly take a look at the alarm clock on the nightstand and let out a huff seeing that is only five a.m. in the morning. You and Stefan promised each other to watch the sunrise together but the night didn’t go as planned, you both studied for hours before collapsing on the bed, as always.
With careful and gentle movements you try to slip from his strong grip and succeeded slowly tiptoeing to reach for Stefan’s hoodie before opening the window. Stefan seems to feel your absence and slowly opens his eyes but you’re caught up by the wonderful sight you’re seeing, it’s like a painter is currently depicting his art: the mellow blue is mixing up with the pink, creating and unique and wonderful colour as the sun rises like a flower blooming in spring. You feel two arms embracing your hips and your smile eventually brightens up a little bit more. “It’s such a unique view.” You murmur closing your eyes the second after Stefan places a kiss on the back of your neck sending shivers down your spine. “The sky is a work of art just like you, Y/N.”
You turn round to face him as your the E/C of your eyes blend with the blue in his, creating a spectacular mixture of colors. “You’re the sunrise after the night, you’re the light in my darkness.” His raspy voice reaches out to your ears like the sweetest melody as your cheeks turn to a light red.
“Stefan...” You’re able to whisper, shaking your head in disbelief. “I wonder how I deserve you...” Your hand caresses his cheek and his hand holds yours, the first rays of sunshine lighting up his wonderful face. “You deserve the best in this world, Y/N, you can’t even imagine. You’re the most beautiful thing that has ever happened in my life and you deserve even more than this.”
“I couldn’t have asked for more.”
His words warm up your heart like a thousand Suns and you can hear its beat increase as the sweet words leave his mouth and you focus on it, feeling the urge to press your lips on his... so you do.
Your lips crash up in a sweet and soft kiss, his hands behind your neck and yours still cupping his cheeks, neither of you wanting to separate.
And as the Sun finally sets up in the sky, your love warms up the room more than the shining star itself.

“Well, well, well, little Y/N came to visit me?”
Damon Salvatore leaned against the door frame, the hint of a playful smirk on his pink lips then his tongue made his way up his upper lip, he winked. Facing him there was a girly figure, her arms crossed and her eyebrow raised up in with a confused look. “Oh, forgive me for destroying your dreams, sweetheart, but I was actually searching for your brother, is he at home?”
The vampire rolled his eyes and sighed, stepping apart so the girl could enter the boarding house. ”Why do you hate me that much?” He questioned following her movements as she put her purse on the counter, then approached Damon’s collection of the finest bourbon.
“You tried to kill each one of my friends.” She spat taking a bottle in her hand and observing it a little before pouring the strong-ish liquid into her glass. “First, that bottle had to be opened the day I’d possibly kill you. Second, it happened long ago, honey.”
“You tried to kill Matt last week!” Y/N responded with annoyance, turning to face him. “And may I remind you that you almost got Jeremy killed a month ago?” Her tone was beyond angry, she was furious. “Calm down, tiger... whatever.”
“No, no you don’t get to ‘whatever’ me!”
The duo’s argument was interrupted by Stefan’s relaxed voice who walked in with his hands in the air, his hair messed up. “If you guys want to shout all day, please do it outside my house.” Y/N huffed in frustration and shook her head. “Forget it, Stefan, your brother was just being a pain in the ass like always.” Damon giggled and mimed a rawr in her direction as Stefan sighed, giving up and walking away.
“Wait, Stefan, you called telling me there were some important matters we had to talk about.” The E/C-haired girl stood up and Stefan stopped, slowly turning his sight to face the two staring at him. “I need you two to do something.”
“What?!” The woman shouted pointing out at Damon, a look full of horror painted on her face. “Me and... Him? This will never happen, Stef.”
“Mama didn’t tell you it’s not very polite for a little girl to point out at her eldest?” Damon provoked, the playful smirk gracing his lips once again.
“I will never work with him, never in a million years!”
“I can’t believe Stefan left me alone with you.” A disgusted voice echoed in the empty streets, followed by footsteps. “Calm down pumpkin, we’re almost there.” He reassured her for the tenth time with the same words, only replacing the nickname he had called her.
The streets were deserted and pitch-black, the only light was given by a flashing street light, steam coming out of their mouths because of the freezing weather. “Do you even know what we’re searching for?” The girl asked and blew some hot air to warm her smooth hands, narrowing her eyebrows when the man didn’t respond but eventually shut her mouth with his hand.
“Shh, I heard someone.” He hushed and slowly removed his big palm from her full lips, walking forward. Even a human like her could hear some talking coming from a building not so far away from them. “Stay here, it’s too dangerous for you.”
“Oh, now you care? Stefan sent me here to help you, right? Then let me help.” She hushed back but before taking a step Damon’s shoulders relaxed and vamp-speeded in front of her. “I want you to stay right here and do not move an inch before I come back... if you have to run, do it and reach Stefan.”
He locked eyes with her and seemed to not willing to look away, like the one who had been compelled was him. Her big E/C eyes stared right into his steely-blue eyes; Damon slowly moved backward before vamp-speeding away as the girl stood there with her lips slightly parted and her heartbeat racing up.
“You stupid asshole...” She whispered.
“Did you really come here alone? How stupid.” The husky voice of a man mocked, surrounded by many others who laughed at the figure covered in blood, laying on the ground. “The fearsome Damon Salvatore killed by some ordinary vampires?”
Damon laughed and shook his head after getting back on his feet, coughing some blood. “C’mon man, fight me.” The young vampire mocked again followed by his henchmen and so Damon punched him and threw him toward a wall, the action made the other vampires assault him and the older tried to fight back, failing. “Guys, please, I must finish him.” The leader uttered and they obeyed, letting him see the black-haired man attempting to pull out a dagger from his stomach. He, on the other hand, had another stake which was made to stab his heart; he raised up his hands in order to finally kill him but a voice made him freeze.
“Goodbye, assholes.” Y/N spoke and pushed a button, smiling.
The vampires started laughing when nothing happened but before jumping on her the building’s automatic windows lifted up letting in the warm light of the sunset; the men started screaming in pain and many of them combusted, falling on the ground, dead. The leader was the only one with a daylight ring and disappeared seconds after. The girl ran toward Damon and fell on her knees, pulling out the wooden stake. “Damon.” She called him and lent her arm for him to feed on. “Feed on me, you’ll be okay.”
Purple veins formed under his now dark eyes and the fangs bite her wrist, she squinted her eyes shut in pain and she bit her lip, her free hand finding his hair, gently caressing it. The intimate moment between the two didn’t last long as the girl started to feel dizzy: “Damon...” She warned so he released the grip on her arm and his eyes turned blue again, his smirk now a severe look.
“I told you not to move, I compelled you!” He shouted and Y/N stood up, visibly offended. “You’re welcome, Damon, I’m glad I saved your ass!” She sassed back and crossed her arms. “Don’t you think I put vervain in my coffee every morning? And you were going to get yourself killed but, guess what, I saved you!”
“Stop that blabbering, Y/N, you could’ve died!”
“You know what, Damon? I should have let you die!” Her hand slapped him and both of them turned silent, Y/N’s eyes watery. “I don’t care anymore.” The woman turned on her hills and walked away rapidly, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Y/N was running away: she felt dumb because she had risked her human life to save someone who didn’t give a fuck about her, she felt dumb for letting him feed on her and for pulling out the stake instead of stabbing it through his heart. But why was she crying? Why did she feel hurt if she promised herself not to care anymore? He wasn’t even coming after her.
The sun was completely set into the sky but the streets were still empty, there was only the postman who threw the newspaper at the doors. She sighed and looked at the wound on her wrist, placing the other arm to stop the bleeding; there was literally no one walking down the streets but she felt like someone was following her. “Damon?” Her weak and tired voice uttered but no one responded, besides a figure appeared behind her, blowing into her ear: “Found you.”
Damon took a sip of bourbon, his head rested on his fist as he stared at the fireplace. “Where’s Y/N?” Stefan questioned taking a sip from Damon’s glass, looking around for the girl. “I don’t know, I thought she might be here but she’s maybe at Elena’s, y’know, best friends stuff.” His tone was unconcerned and he raised his shoulders, grabbing his glass back.
“Elena asked me if I saw her because even Caroline and Bonnie haven’t seen her anywhere.” Damon choked on his drink and gave Stefan a worried look mixed with pure anger. “He took her.”
“What? What are you talking about... You didn’t kill him?” The younger brother shouted, Damon clenched his jaw and squeezed his fists, punching Stefan in the face. “Don’t you blame me, Stefan, this is all your fault.” He hissed and in a matter of seconds, he was gone.
“You finally woke up, huh?”
Y/N slowly opened her eyes and immediately felt a sharp pain in her neck. “Oh, I fed on you while you were knocked out, hope you don’t mind.”
She wanted to punch him but she couldn’t, arms and legs were tied up on a chair, she wanted to scream but her mouth was shut with a duck tape, the only thing she could do was give the vampire a death stare and if looks could kill, he would have died in a matter of seconds. “Let’s call your friend, alright?” He nodded and took her phone from the pocket of her light jeans, smirking.
“Mm, Bonnie, Care... Damon.” His hazel eyes shut in amusement, bringing the phone to his ear. “Hello, Salvatore, you should be dead, you know? Wait, don’t freak out, I’ll put you on speaker.”
“I’m coming for you and I’m going to rip your heart out.” He growled and Y/N’s heart lost a beat from hearing his voice. “Hear your girl’s heartbeat yet? You hear how it beats for you, it’ll soon stop, Damon Salvatore, you need to hurry.”
“I’m already here.”
A husky voice spoke to him and in a matter of seconds the man’s heart was ripped off, his body fell on the ground. “Bye-bye.” Damon let the heart fall and hurried toward Y/N, ripping off the duck tape and the ropes.
“Damon, you came...” She whispered and threw her arms around his neck, finally able to breathe properly and starting to cry; the vampire froze for a moment but soon embraced her, placing a soft kiss on her head. “I’m here baby.” He whispered in her ear and smiled as she looked at him with her puffy eyes.
“Take me home.” Y/N murmured, getting weaker because of her wounds, hiding her face in the crook of his neck.

Y/N slowly caressed Kol's chest, drawing imaginary circles on his skin as he held her close with his eyes shut in a peaceful expression, his thin lips curled up in a cheery smile. "I love it when we're like this." The woman breathed on his skin and looked up at him, who opened his eyes to admire her natural and pure beauty, then he giggled and placed a kiss on her fragrant soft hair. "Like what?"
She rolled her eyes and sat on the bed, shaking her head: "Don't make me say that, Kol Mikaelson, you already know."
He grinned and crawled toward her, his face only inches away from hers. "I'd fancy hearing you say that, love." His dark eyes bound to be tracing her figure, in that moment he probably looked like the devil itself but maybe that's what attracted her the most, they were like two magnets who couldn't decide whether to attract or to repel and they could feel the electricity between their bodies. They were dangerous for each other but at the same time important, he put his darkness in her light and she put her light in his darkness.
"Just us, nothing else that matters, no running away and no one that hurt us." She muttered in such a tranquility that made Kol smile, not his usual playful and cocky smirk, a real and cheerful one. He tenderly caressed her hair and breathed on her lips before kissing her lovingly: "I promise no one will ever hurt you, Y/N Y/L/N."
"Y/N?" A voice called her, "Y/N are you even listening to me?" The raven-haired man shook his hand to attract her attention with his eyebrows furrowed. "For God's sake Y/N, are you there?"
The snapping of his fingers seemed to bring her out from a status of trance and she blinked multiple times, taking a deep breath and looking at his friend, Damon Salvatore, that rolled his eyes in annoyance. "There you are, I thought I had lost you for a second." He grinned and took a sip of his bourbon, smacking his lips together. "Don't tell me you were daydreaming about that Mikaelson brother again, who is also a psychopath and..." "... An asshole? Yes, Damon, I was since I'm slowly gaining my memories back and, I may add, can't stop him from popping up in my confused mind!" She said it all at once losing her breath so Damon widened his eyes in astonishment, clearing his throat. "Woah, Y/N, you really do hate that guy."
No, I don't.
"Yes, I do. How could I ever forgive him for being so selfish? How could he do that to me?" She sighed before continuing all over again, "Every memory hurts like a stake through my heart and I hate him..."
... I love him.
"That's why we have to kill him and all of his family." Damon stated and stood up from his chair giving her a wink. "You'll get your revenge, I promise you." And then he left leaving her breathless, her mind getting confused again while a battle was going on inside of her. "Yeah..." She groaned, "But do I really want that?"
Y/N Y/L/N dragged her legs down the road, the shy Sun of October lightly warming up her skin and she closed her eyes feeling the melodies of little birds on the red trees, their leaves falling dead on the ground. Maybe she was like a leaf but she was slowly sinking into her own abyss and without her anchor, she could've never resurfaced. "Klaus told me you love being alone, am I bothering you?"
She laughed and swung her arms hearing the familiar cocky voice from behind, turning around to see him standing a few meters away from her, a smirk depicted his face. "Close the curtains, Kol, the show is over." He tilted his head in a curious way and then shrugged, but before he could say a word she spoke again, anger in her voice: "Oh, hasn't Klaus told you the most important thing out of the others?" She scoffed at him and she could hear his heart make a jump and his jaw clenching. "Let me enlighten you, love." She took some steps toward him crossing her arms, "After you erased every memory of our young love and compelled me to leave the city your brother, Klaus, came for me because he knew I was a werewolf."
Kol's dark eyes widened and his confidence started to fall apart and he shook his head in disbelief. "Your self-indulgence brought us here, you did that to me Kol - not your brother - you gave me this lonely life as an Immortal Hybrid, a life sired to Klaus, a life without my own freedom!" Her voice rose and she started yelling at him like she had dreamt to do for a while, tears streaming down her face. "A life without you." She concluded quickly wiping her tears away while he stood still, his eyes getting watery.
He felt torn, empty and mad with himself because he hurt the only creature he had ever cared for. "I'm sorry." The apologies left his mouth but didn't reach her heart, only her ears, so she smiled disgusted at him, disgusted at the man she had loved so much... She had loved to death. "Please, don't-"
"C'mon Y/N, I'm the infamous Kol Mikaelson, I destroy everything I touch!" He shouts swinging his arms and letting them fall on his hips, her never breaking the eye-contact with him. "I thought you were better than this! I thought you were better than those rumors, Kol!" "Guess you were wrong because you knew from the beginning that I was dangerous... I should've left you there that night."His last sentence left her in shock, he didn't care anymore.
Her heart broke into million pieces as she couldn't recognize anymore the man she used to call "love", the man that used to save and protect her despite everything.
"And I should have never trusted a vampire!" Her eyes turned yellow but before she could jump on him another voice called her and when she turned again Kol had disappeared. She couldn't think about it anymore because Tyler ran toward her with a furious look and swollen eyes. "Ty, what happened?" She asked in concern, placing her hand on his cheek: he looked devastated and she wondered what could've had happened to one of their friends. "Ty please, answer me." She begged and Tyler looked into her eyes, sighing. "Klaus killed them all, all his Hybrids, we're the only ones left."
She had never run this fast like she did that day; her blood was boiling from anger and she wanted to scream in pain, emotions hitting her hard, destroying her slowly. Kol had told her things that hurt because deep in her heart she knew the guy she fell in love with was still there, trapped in an ocean of resentment and hate. He wanted to prove him he didn't reach her, she wanted to prove him her strength and braveness. She was going to kill Klaus and prove him wrong.
Prove him that she was more dangerous than him.
But before she could reach the Mikaelson's mansion someone pinned her against a tree, a familiar scent of cologne invading her nostrils and she tried to throw him away, the Original Vampire beeing to ancient and strong. "What the hell are you doing, Y/N?!" Kol shouted and forced her to the pine tree, her squeezing her eyes shut but taking a chance to throw him against another tree, yelling: "Why the fuck do you care, huh?" She questioned but was pinned to the ground with him sitting on her, his face inches from hers.
"You just pop up and pretend to care, just after regretting to have saved me? That's so nice of you, Kol." She tried to punch him in the face but he grabbed her wrist, the Hybrid not giving up and pushing him away, vamp-speeding a few meters near the Mansion. "I'll remember to send you a card when I'll finally be free from my bond with Klaus."
"I think you won't be able to send me anything, darling, since he'll rip your heart out!" Kol clenched his jaw and squeezing his fists, the thought of losing her forever going through his mind. "How can you be so selfish?" She ran her hands through her hair desperately, not believing his words. "It's about you, again, you'll decide for me... Again! I prefer dying more than passing an eternity serving that filthy bastard."
The vampire nodded multiple times, slamming his hands together. "That's not about Klaus, Y/N, you hate being half a vampire because that creature hurt you. Because I hurt you and I'll regret it for the rest of my immortal life, but that night I took the risk!"
"Why?" She cried out, "Why did you do that?"
