Never got those father-son trips I wanted.” He glares at the man, then pets his pikachu. “Own up.”
“I never once failed to provide financial support, and I can retrieve the receipts to prove it. Whatever your mother did or didn’t do with that money is beyond my knowledge. The rest is true enough.”
Giovanni rolled his shoulders in a shrug.
“She deserves better. Both of you do. But she continues to obsess over an ideal I cannot achieve.”
