nectar from the gods #timhortons #imightbeaddicted (at Tim Hortons)
every time I make an order on Herbalife or buy a book on Amazon. the worst is seeing it be delivered to Willington, then to another part of the state before they head here. I drive past it, I'll pick it up. #overnightshipping #notfastenough #imightbeaddicted #loveshopping #loveshoppingonline
Decided to have a kiss day with my nails after filing them down. Keep it simple stripes. I think this is the first time I used striping tape for it's intended use... #nails #nailart #keepitsimple #imightbeaddicted #imobsessed

If you have a better feeling with OB.. I mean watch an episode or two, try to find as many examples as you can and see if it's worth it to change everything you've already done :)
I don’t know. First of all, the idea of the project is kind of stupid because we’re supposed to correct “fellow” translators (professional translators - because she’s not letting us use regular Spanish subtitles). These people get paid for what they do and they’re supposed to be good, right? Well, okay. My first instinct was to go with Grey’s, because I thought 11 seasons would be enough material for me to work with. But Grey’s is quite famous here and I’m assuming there won’t be many mistakes because *I’m hoping* they check their work. Plus, eleven seasons...pft sorry but I don’t feel like rewatching everything in both English and Spanish.
Apart from that, the classification we’ve been given is ridiculous*. Well, actually, she expected us to find mistakes and classify them before she even gave us her classification (lol). I’m supposed to turn it in some time in May and she hasn’t even given us the instructions, but okay. She wants us to find at least one mistake from each category, but some of them are risky (such as the “linguistics” one -> which is supposed to be about verbal tenses, but you know, sometimes they do that on purpose to make things sound more natural, so I’m not going to risk my grade with that lol)
*And as for ridiculous I mean classifying erroneous translation of accents as extra-linguistic mistakes because “Linguistics only refers to rules” *loud laugh* I don’t know where they’ve found this prof tbh haha
She gave us three diffeent classifications. I’ll just explain to you the first one so that you can laugh and feel bad for me lol: a) comprehension mistakes: the translator hasn’t understood the original language text (does she even know what SL is? lol) b) reformulation mistakes: the translator has understood the text but has reformulated it wrong. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THEY UNDERSTOOD IT OR NOT? And, more importantly, ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT -PROFESSIONAL- TRANSLATORS, CAN MAKE MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THE SOURCE TEXT? *this profession is forever ruined for me lol* (and I’m sorry, but we’re wasting the entire course finding mistakes by professional translators instead of translating ourselves...it makes no sense)
To sum up, KATE COME DO MY ESSAY ILY :)

maybe go with OB? I mean the accents and the different ways Tatiana speaks are very relevant in the show and to distinguish the clones. It sucks that you already are halfway with HTGAWM though... I've stuck my nose into your personal stuff, sorry
Yes, that’s why I thought it’d be so good for this project. I always watch everything in English so I honestly don’t know how good the Spanish translation is. I doubt they’ll reflect the different accents, but I could be wrong...And, I mean, I have already found several things in HTGAWM, including the very title “Cómo defender a un asesino” and the fact that they don’t always leave legal Latin terms in Latin, which they should do. I like what I’m doing, but I know if I don’t change series I’ll always regret it to some extent lol Don’t apologize, I do the same thing :p And I always appreciate different opinions, so you’re more than welcome to comment on anything :)
