if you're in my notifications on a regular basis but we have never spoken...I want you to know that I know your username and think fondly of you
the weird schrödinger's emotion that is "that character death was narratively satisfying and emotionally impactful and ultimately the best way to handle their character arc" simultaneously with "noooo but I wanted them to live :( :( :("
you know what. I think I should be allowed to temporarily turn into a seal and go swimming around in the ocean for a while. just submit a little note to work that says "sorry, I need to take some sick time, I am becoming a seal" and leave for a week
in general I think I have a weak spot for sunk cost fallacy characters. no point in trying to change because there's no going back! can't stop now because the possibility of being wrong is too unbearable to face head on and would destroy me if I tried!
the deeply personal thing that specifically grinds my gears about that absurd kink meme rules post though is this little line:
the whole thing is ridiculous and it feels kind of silly for me to specifically be squinting at this but it comes back to my whole bugbear about the way fandom often talks about kink as being all about the needs of the submissive, with the dom as sort of an afterthought without a lot of interiority of their own. the aftercare is for the submissive, specifically, only.
what I'm kind of saying here in a less serious way is. my kingdom for more topdrop fics honestly
on the one hand i understand why people don't like the word "consuming" to describe interaction with media and generally i agree but on the other hand there is something about it that can feel appropriate for certain things. sometimes it's like. yes i am eating this in fact. sucking the marrow out of its bones even
honestly i think people should describe women as "handsome" more often.
