mettatenna is a ship that ive been thinking about for some reason, specifically the fact that the most common version of it (mettaton ex x tenna) is something that i am completely disinterested in, but deltarune mettaton x tenna is so fucking interesting to me. there's so much potential there.
in deltarune we don't even technically know mettaton's name. he just introduces himself as "a nobody" (it's likely he's not even called mettaton yet). he's clearly not the confident and charismatic transgender robot guy we know him as, he's probably a bit of a loser and a shut in. he's probably completely unaware of any dreams he could possibly have until he gets tenna and sees the music video that awakens something in him. mettaton becoming obsessed with the old tv some weird kids gave him and beginning to have his own dreams of what he could be is so interesting to me. i don't even really like the idea of him being aware that tenna is a guy in another world, i like the idea of mettaton thinking that he's just a tv but a tv that he loves. i like the idea of tenna giving mettaton confidence. i like the idea of mettaton being the one who needs a confidence boost. i like mettaton realising who he is because of tenna. i want to see more art of an awkward, closeted tboy ghost who loves his tv so, so much.
