Happy Birthday to the man...who is father, friend. The cool man who is our go to resource for aphorisms on life. My father is the man who made sure a permanent dialogue with the self and the place it has in the world, the universe becomes a part of our character - of us three siblings. We meet and have these endless discussions on politics, vedanta, advaita, meditation, religion, love, people and everything under the sun... He is also the man who gave us the eye to appreciate beauty, aesthetics, the penchant for travel, food, photography, Indian philosophy, to value what we have, to take care of our health, and to always debate and question and never stop being humorous and childlike. “Every moment happens twice: inside and outside, and they are two different histories.” ― Zadie Smith #photos: Raised on a two-tiered platform, the Mutiny Memorial or Ajitgarh is an octagonal tapering tower built in the year 1863 in gothic-style using red sandstone. It also has an inner staircase which remains locked now. The place on which the memorial stands was a Battery site of the British officers during the 'Siege of Delhi'. It was earlier known as Fatehgarh or Jitgarh but was rechristened Ajitgarh in the year 1972 on the 25th anniversary of India's Independence and a new plaque was installed here stating that the memorial is in the memory of those martyrs who rose in rebellion against the tyranny of the British colonial rule in the year 185, known to many of us as India's first war of Independence.
