How can I know if I'm a crystal child or an indigo?
Here’s an explanation
Can I be a indigo and care about cultural appropriation, racism etc ?
Yes, of course! Everyone should care about those things. It’s important. The fact that the indigo community seems to neglect those issues for whatever reason makes it seem like you can’t be an indigo child/spiritual and have opinions and passion about those issues at the same time, but indigo children want to raise consciousness and eradicating those problems is part of that mission.
Is it normal to be agnostic but still be indigo? I have a sense of spirituality with the universe but find it hard to believe in a deity ..
Very normal, and very common. You can connect with the universe, Being, the All, Source, whatever you want to call it, without personifying it. You don’t have to believe in a deity, and most indigo children actually don’t.
As a non-indigo child (or someone who isn't sure how to tell if they are) I want to surround myself with them as I feel there's much they could teach me and much I want to learn but, as I said, not being one, I don't really know how to tell if I'm around one. And I'm quite reserved so going out and talking to everyone I come by wont exactly be easy. Amy tips?
I don’t think you have to be an indigo child to recognize an indigo child. And I don’t think you have to be around an indigo child to learn certain things. There are indigo children, and then there are people who are spiritually conscious and well-learned. You can surround yourself with the latter group and still learn a lot. Many indigo children have a lot of learning to do and, being early in their journeys, are not yet as conscious as someone who’s been studying for years but isn’t an indigo child. I think just surrounding yourself with open-minded people should do the trick.
The first thing that comes to mind for tips is to join the Indigo School. And I’m not just saying that because this is the Indigo School, but there are hundreds of indigo children here who chat every day and would love to learn with and from other spiritually conscious people. This way, it’s less intimidating if you’re naturally reserved, because 1. you’re speaking to them online and 2. after a while, their genuine kindness well make you feel at ease. Also, follow people who you know are indigo children or spiritually conscious on social media, and then follow some people who follow them. This can surround you with that kind of energy and help you meet some really cool people.
I thought I was an indigo child but I'm actually very academically intelligent (apparently) and I only have one natural psychic ability... Does this mean I'm not an indigo child?
Being academically intelligent does not mean that you’re not an indigo child. I say this all the time: the things you see online with indigo child blog posts and quizzes are just indicators. They’re just things that some indigo children have in common, or sometimes just things people assume indigo children would have in common. Do not let them deter you from knowing yourself; at the end of the day, the Universe will show you who you are when it’s time for you to know.
The reason people say indigo children don’t perform well academically is because indigo children aren’t used to the way our school system functions; it’s not designed for freedom and nurturing of the human soul, so we don’t know how to configure ourselves in it. We can be extremely intelligent, but perform averagely in school. And psychic abilities develop as you exercise them, so even if you had none, that doesn’t mean you don’t “have” psychic abilities, it just means you don’t remember how to use them.
How do you feel about people who pretend to be indigos. Like they say vague information but it's clear they don't know anything or what we really are and do. Like they know the scratch of the surface. But say things to others to fuel their ego.
I don’t think we can look at things people say or post online and determine if they’re “pretending”. That would be judging them; however, you can definitely feel someone’s energy and discern whether they’re being authentic or not, and that goes for indigo children and any other matter. Someone may not know that they’re not an indigo child but are simply expressing things they’re interested in without knowing that there’s a difference between being spiritually awakened and being an indigo child, and honestly, it isn’t our place as indigo children to make that decision for them. Everyone’s path is their own and things manifest in different ways. I do understand that lots of people are susceptible to following fads, and they may see the conscious/indigo movement as a fad to follow, which can be dangerous. Because they are not authentically part of this movement, they can spread misinformation about who we are and what we’re here for. But I’ve always thought that the indigo movement is not a bad fad to follow; things may rub off after a while, and isn’t raising consciousness our goal?
You’re right, these people often repeat things that we say and claim “enlightenment” to boost their own egos. That’s why several people have an aversion to the idea of indigo children, because they’ve been exposed to people who aren’t really indigo children, people who talk about being an indigo child like it makes them superior or special. This is ego, and their display of ego gives the rest of us a bad name. Still, it would be a little egotistical of us to measure their consciousness by what they say or to say that one is not “as enlightened” as another, because enlightenment is enlightenment. I hope you understand what I’m getting at.
Hello!! So I have recently realized I identify very strongly with indigo attributes and I identify as one. I won't tell anyone I know because I know for a fact they are very close minded and will think I'm trying to be some hippie or something. So knowing I'm indigo has made me feel a lot better about myself except I still have no one to truly talk to about it and it sucks:( I wanted to thank you for creating this blog!! Super helpful!!
Hello! Congratulations on discovering your true self, I’m very happy for you. You don’t have to tell everyone right away (I know it’s not something I tell most people for the same reason), but if they don’t understand, it’s still okay. Maybe they will show their closed-mindedness to you when you tell them, but when you’re not around and they go home, subconsciously they’ll still be curious about what you told them and they might just type the word into Google and discover something about themselves too. One thing I always remind myself: as an indigo child, I came to this planet to help raise consciousness and vibrations. If I shield myself and try to fit in, it defeats the purpose of why I’m here.
Thank you! Love and light. :)
Hi I'm Hayley, I just turned 16, a week ago I stumbled on a documentary about indigo children, I was very intrigued but the idea so I did some further research. Long story short I took a ton of test and I came out to be 90)+ indigo! I feel so at home. I've always been teased about not being very "smart" in the way of the typical school definition. I always knew I was smart but no one else did. I'm glad to know there are more people like me. I'm so exited to embrace my newfound family and life
I’m really happy that you’ve found your place! It’s a beautiful time, every indigo feels a sense of relief and happiness when we first come to realize who we are. If you ever need anything, feel free to ask, and I know you’ll feel at home here at The Indigo School, since you’re surrounded by people who know and respect your true potential. Love & light :)
