look i'm definitely no expert on the desires of migrants & refugees- because hey- i'm a white u.s. american who, for the most part, decends from european colonisers/settlers but, westerns-
...we do know that migrants & refugees don't actually want to come live in western countries, right?? we know that, right??

i think its an extremely safe bet that people who are planning to migrate or flee to western countries aren't just- sitting around- daydreaming about how grand life will be in western countries.
they aren't counting the seconds until they "finally" get to live the "great land" of whatever.
migrants & refugees aren't coming to western countries to "live the dream".
they're being forced to leave their homes.
that's not a dream- its a nightmare.
so stop buying into the propaganda that your counrty is just "so great" that people are actually excited leave behind family & friends, homes & neighborhoods, cultures & land- & that people are just begging to uproot their entire lives- all just so that they can come live here. because that's bullshit.
migrants & refugees love their home. love their land. love their people. and they want to be there, but because of lack of safety or opportunity or human rights or whatever they. can't. stay. home. they have to leave- no matter how much they wish they could stay.
& those that happen to come to west- aren't here because western countries are some "great land of prosperity & safety" they're here because western countries outsource the majority of their war & slavery & corruption making them "safer". (unless your in the u.s. where we get a good chunk of our slavery from prisons but you get the point)
so please... for the love of gods...
westerners (especially u.s. americans)... we need to get it out of our fucking heads that every non-western person around the world is just fantasizing about coming to live in western countries. because the vast majority aren't. & yeah we're still stuck with hundreds of years of propaganda, but who cares!? its long past due that we- get. our. heads. out. of our. nationalistic. propoganda. filled. asses. okay?? okay.
