Ines's excitement sticks, breath still uneven from the mad dash through the hotel, Jakob right behind her. She knows, without a doubt, that he held back on purpose, never overtaking her, just so she could be the one to choose the movie. That small gesture, one of many she’s noticed, makes something flutter inside her chest, how he's more considerate than she ever expected. When they finally burst into the room, the sight that greets them momentarily diverts them from the real reason why they were both rushing. Ines feels her steps falter as her eyes sweep over the space, warmth greets her in the form of a clean, dry t-shirt folded neatly on the bed, ready for her to slip into beneath the plush robe. But it's the mountain of food that really stops her in her tracks. More food than she’s ever seen laid out in one place, all for the two of them. Plates piled high with colorful, rich dishes that smell divine.
It's a quiet moment of awe for her, another flicker of that strange feeling like she's known Jakob much longer than she actually has. The way they naturally settle on the bed together, legs sprawled over each other without thought, as if they've been doing this for years. The bed itself is massive, the biggest she's ever seen, but it shrinks around them as they snack and talk, their limbs tangled together in a way that feels both intimate and effortless. She doesn't even realize that one of her feet has been resting on his leg for most of the evening, anchoring them together without either of them acknowledging it.
Her final bite of cake makes her huff softly, the crumbs brushing off the edge of her robe. With a mischievous grin, she flicks them toward Jakob. "I think I ate too much." she confesses with a laugh, but straightens up quickly with a story on her lips, also ready to defend herself before he can point out that she devoured two of the small cakes before even touching the real food, and then two more. "You wanna know something weird about me?" she asks suddenly, the playful spark in her eyes shifting to something a bit more conspiratorial. "It's like, really hard for me to be sick." she chuckles, her grin back as her eyes momentarily flick between Jakob's. "Okay, so, there's context. Obviously. My cousin has lived with us since we were kids." she begins, brushing her hands clean and shifting slightly, her leg sliding around Jakob's further. "He’s…well, he's weird. And he literally terrorizes me. And he'd do this thing-"
Her laugh comes again, quickly between her words. "He'd grab me by the ankles and spin me around. Always after we ate, too, like he thought making me sick would scare me into telling him." the memory makes her snort. "But now, because of all that, I have a really hard time throwing up. Like, I adapted. I evolved." Ines grins, a hand absently finding it's way to Jakob's mess of hair, pushing it gently back from his face as she chuckles, once again pulled in as she studies him. "I guess it's a party trick? A weird one, though. Because, it's kinda hard to prove."
