He sees his worth in how people see him - the more positive feedback he receives, the more individuals who notice him, the more comfortable he becomes with himself. Conversely, to be somebody nobody would take notice of would be like a living hell. He’s been there, where nobody considered him to be anything worth caring about or, even worse, somebody unremarkable, and to him it was like a prison in itself.
Nobody listened or noticed him as a kid. he would be sure that he would be somebody worth remembering now.
(He doesn’t show it when he’s afraid, just like the other myriad of emotions that never directly appears on his face. But everytime it happens, he feels like screaming.)

While most of the overpriced goods he buys are in order to keep up appearances, he does like to splurge a lot when it comes to food. In his defense, he would exclaim, that there is actually a study that food would taste better if you pay more for it! That, and well, he does have a bit of a luxurious taste.
A bit of a contrast are his other possessions, most of which are handmade. He dabbles a bit in arts and crafts and enjoys making the stuff he has as his own by decorating them to his tastes! ...It’s just a bit unfortunate that his tastes often include tacking on a giant ‘A’ on pretty much everything...

He knows that other people sees him as somebody posh, a very well-mannered goody two shoes. He knows because this is exactly how he wants people to see him in the first place, it’s his way of blending in with society - even if he does stand out a bit because of it. He knows exactly what is considered to be acceptable or even remarkable when it comes to acting the right way and saying the right things.
As somebody who feels like living in the view of his peers is an uphill battle, such etiquette is his weapon. The less they suspect him of doing anything outrageous the better - it means that the element of surprise would be on his side.
This isn’t how he views himself, however. In his reflection, he sees... A bastard child with no worth, probably. But that was who he was. Who he is now is something he’s not quite sure yet - he’s been wearing his mask for so long that he’s not too sure what lies beneath it, anymore. He’s not sure if he even wants to know.
