Infinite Effect in LA
A memory to live on forever.
It’s been a little over a month since I last saw Infinite again after two years. The first time I saw them was on their first world tour, One Great Step in LA. And honestly, they blew me away. As if they weren’t amazing enough through broadcasts and variety shows, their presence at the concert venue was amazing. Their live vocals, their dancing, and their cute attempts to speak in English, and their overwhelming love for their fans, for us, absolutely touched my heart. And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
They were just so amazing. Like seeing them at OGSLA was already amazing enough. And then we were given the chance to see them again when they came to celebrate 111 years of Korean American History. Honestly, their collaboration stage with SHINee was amazing. And then we got to see Toheart. And even though they only had like, maybe 3~4 songs, they captivated the audience. C o m p l e t e l y.
But enough of the past. Now to reminisce IELA. Honestly speaking, this was the first concert I actively participated in. Participating as in passing out banners and talking to other fans. Looking back on it now, I’m surprised at how thrilling and exciting it was before the concert even started. I finally got to meet some of my closest online friends in real life and spent the weekend with them just fangirling and hanging out. And it was amazing. And the other Inspirits I got to meet? Gods, they were just so precious. Each and every one of them were so excited and all that excitement from all those fans just hyped all of us up for the concert.
Passing out banners was probably the most fun I had before a concert. So many Inspirits were so happy to receive banners. I know the project wasn’t super successful, but getting to meet all these Inspirits and just talk to them and getting to know some of them gave me so much life.
And then, the concert. It was one of the most stressfree pit experiences I’ve ever had. I only got pushed once (but that’s okay. I’m alive and that’s all that matters in the end), and the Inspirits around me were so kind. T___T Infinite was amazing as usual. I can’t even explain how I felt throughout the concert. I was just so awe struck and in love with their vocals and dance and their interactions with the fans. They’re seriously the best. Like honestly, I’m a Sunggyu stan (I literally trembled every time Gyu came close), but each and every member owned the stage and melted the hearts of all the fans in the venue. Like Sungyeol, jeez, this boy, as if his red hair doesn’t make him even more handsome, he decides to ruin my life. I didn’t expect him to take a selfie on my phone, but when he did I just d i e d. Whatever composure I had left completely broke down and I was completely and utterly destroyed.
Like seriously, Sungyeol thanks for ruining me. I was so composed and then- oh well. But honestly, all of Infinite was so amazing. T__T They were as in sync as ever and they just looked so good. Like I can’t even form words to describe how good looking they were. OTL.
These seven boys men are absolutely endearing. They work so hard. Give the best fan service. Have amazing vocals and are so humble. The amount of love they shower their fans with is adorable to the point of cringing, and they’re all so dorky and dumb that you can’t help but love them. Like really, L broke a water bottle, how do you not love him?
Honestly though, they were so amazing. Woohyun’s solo blew me away. I already knew his vocals are amazing to begin with. But his solo piece just proved it to everyone in the audience that he is our amazing vocalist that can belt out high notes and sustain them forever. And his vibrato. D a m n. Woohyun’s voice makes me weak. OTL I need his solo album to come out faster.
And oh my, Infinite H. Geez. Dongwoo and Hoya slayed that stage. I didn’t know they were going to perform “Sorry, I’m Busy” and I practically DIED. They were just so amazing. I’m not that big of a fan of hip hop, in fact, I normally don’t listen to songs that are primarily rap. But I think Infinite H is just an exception for me. I actually really like the beat, the rhythm and just the stage presence that Dongwoo and Hoya have. The moment they come on stage, there’s this flaming charisma that cannot be ignored and they’re so bright and energetic that you can’t help but want to get hyped up with them. All in all, I was awestruck through their entire performance. I didn’t even realize Hoya was in front of me until I heard my friend screaming next to me. HAHA. Infinite H was amazing. <3
And then Sunggyu. Jeez. I was such a mess. No lie. Sunggyu is my ultimate bias. I love this man a bit more than I’d like to admit. He’s so cute and adorable, but he’s also wise and considerate and caring towards his members, and there are times where he’s just this dumb little child and I’m like, “But you’re supposed to be older than me?” To be honest, I was so excited to see Gyu perform his solo piece. It was the to the point I was trembling the entire time. Like, that’s how much of an effect he had on me. I was practically ready to fall over and collapse (Thankfully that didn’t happen). But honestly I couldn’t. My emotions were all over the place and I just wanted to cry, Sunggyu’s voice is so perfect and it’s so smooth and pretty and I was just so thankful that I was able to hear him live again. T__T Thank you Kim Sunggyu for ruining my life and giving me life at the same time. His voice was just so- I love this man too much. OTL.I have like no good pictures of Gyu because I kept shaking. Ugh. My feels were too strong.
But right after that was just overdose of cuteness and fluff. Infinite F is so cute. Oh my god. I seriously couldn’t. I’m so glad this unit group exists because these three members are seriously so underrated wen it comes to vocals. People keep thinking they’re incompetent and stuff when they’re actually NOT. Like Sungyeol’s vocals have improved so much over the years. You can hear it in their new min album, Reality, as well. Yeol’s part in Footsteps gives him this lovely high note and- sorry I’m getting side tracked. But yes, Infinite F was so endearing. Their cute little interactions with the crowd and with each other was adroable. I absolutely love how Sungyeol kept teasing the fans and then messing around with our poor maknae. xD I didn’t get a plushie or anything, but I did get to see Myungsoo up close. And dear lord, he’s so handsome. :Q Like all of Infinite is handsome, but Myungsoo looked exceptionally good from where I was standing. The lighting on him was perfect. Too bad I didn’t manage to record that part cause I was so star struck. LOL.
I can go on forever with the rest of the concert, but I already skipped the beginning and I’m probably not going to be able to contain my feels any longer. So I’ll just stop here for now. Honestly though, Infinite brings me so much happiness and helps me continue on trough the day. Their laughter makes me laugh and their smiles make me smile too. THeir vocals always impress me no matter how many times I’ve watched their performances, and their behind the scene shoots, variety show appearances and them just being themselves gives me so much joy and life. I’m really grateful I found out about Infinite. Thanks to them I’ve met some of my closest friends who I went to the concert with (they’re not even from LA, but that’s okay I love them no matter how many miles apart we are).
Infinite Effect in LA was and is a memory that I will not forget any time soon. It’s one of those concerts that I can still vividly remember every little detail and I can still feel the lingering excitement I had that weekend as I waited for that night to happen. I can’t wait til the next time Infinite comes back, and hopefully when that time comes around, I’ll finally be able to meet all the Inspirits I met after the concert. :3 Thank you Woolim for bringing them to the US again. <3 <3 I can’t wait to see them again.
