I don't feel the need to say goodbye to my inner critic; properly directed, I think they genuinely help me write.
However, there is no doubt they provide unsolicited advice that's less than helpful.
Thus, I have chosen to treat them like an employee who feels the need to comment on every little thing regardless of lane or expertise. Thanks for your opinions on my ideas being garbage, Greg, but let's stay focused; how is that plot hole looking?
Plus, when things get too critical, I can send Greg to HR.
