Thinking about the Sailor Senshi 20th Anniversary Alumni Reunion for the umpteenth time, and the part that struck me the most is their Senshi LINE group chat, and Mew having notifications muted.

That Miyuu said at any given time they could have sent over 100 messages chatting, and Keiko saying their conversation topic jumps all over the place, I can only imagine how chaotic it is.

I just daydream about what conversation the 5 Senshi (and Luna, I guess…) would have, imagining them all also having kept a group chat going the whole time.

Of course, Rei would be the one to mute the chat instead of Makoto. So occasionally Minako or Makoto would message her individually saying“GET YOUR BUTT BACK INTO THE GROUP CHAT. Usagi’s about to charge up Hikawa to find you if you don’t respond. Stop ignoring us!!!”

Rei had mute Makoto and Minako for awhile as well, but then Minako called her and ‘yelled’ at her so at least she gave up on muting them individually.

This could totally become a fanfic prompt lmao

I’m too brain dead today to make any gif set or liveblogs, but my WHOLE head is just reinako coz I’m STRESSED.  So here I am, just wanting to rant about my 2nd favourite photo from the PGSM Visual Book.

THIS PHOTO.  

This photo accompanies the Senshi cast’s interview in the visual book, but the whole composition just screams slumber party vibe with the cast actually in character. 

Between how comfortable and giggly Usagi, Ami and Makoto looked, how Rei and Minako are trapped in between their three friends, Minako’s head ON REI’S SHOULDER, and the cushion thrown off to the ground in the bottom of the photo, it makes my whole imagination go wild that this was a group photo taken when Minako treated the girls to an overnight retreat in some nice hotel or Airbnb for a slumber party.  

Usagi demanded wanting another nice group photo, and Rei’s uncooperative because Usagi already insisted and took many more group photos before that, so as a compromise (and also then Rei can’t just run away), they all crowd themselves onto the couch around Rei instead. Usagi plonked herself in front of Rei first, not letting the miko run away, and then Minako took the other side to take away all options of escape. Posing with her head on Rei’s shoulder on a whim definitely shut the miko up because she was too mortified by the contact. Makoto flopping down onto the idol’s lap is a representation of how comfortable and close the two have become, especially after their shared understanding from Act 45 and 46. Ami climbed and sat on the top of the couch because she was just too busy giggling at everyone’s behavior, especially knowing seeing how awkward Rei initially looked from having the idol so close to her.  Luna in her human form took the photo for them.

pgsm!Rei, entering the Senshi Secret Base: Why are Usagi and Mamoru sitting with their backs to each other?

pgsm!Makoto: They had a fight.

pgsm!Rei: Then why are they holding hands?

pgsm!Ami: They get sad when they fight.

Ami: If you bite it and you die, it’s poisonous. If it bites you and you die, it’s venomous.

Usagi: What if it bites me and it dies!?

Luna: Then you’re poisonous. Jesus Christ, Usagi-chan, learn to listen.

Minako: What if it bites itself and I die?

Rei: That’s voodoo.

Makoto: What if it bites me and someone else dies?

Artemis: That’s correlation, not causation.

Minako, looking at Rei with a smirk: What if we bite each other, and neither of us die?

Rei, with a deadpan: That’s kinky.

Ami: Oh my God.

Okay, the absolute last scene of this episode! We’re here, but I spend over 10minutes making gif, because I have so much to say about this. lol

Classic Usagi freaking out about school because she leaves things till the last minute.  That’s not any shock, though it’s hilarious this is how the warm fuzzy moment got ruined.  But the best part is Makoto, Rei and Ami’s reaction, ESPECIALLY compared to what happened in Act 8 when Usagi asked for help on her homework, and that’s what sparked Rei and Makoto’s fight.

Makoto and Ami are probably already extremely used to Usagi’s last minute panic, since they’d likely endure it at school too, so both of them doesn’t have too strong of a reaction to Usagi’s outburst, though it’s lovely to see Ami still looked shocked - because you know Ami would always think the best of Usagi even if Usagi doesn’t have the best track record with school work. lol  

On the other hand, you can tell Rei definitely looks defeated with a heavy sigh and drop of her shoulders, but also with a hint of a smile because she’s probably thinking that something never changes, and can’t help but find Usagi’s behavior endearing. 

Rei never hesitates to say “no”, but the awesome part is Usagi doesn’t hesitate to ask Rei for help despite the predictable response.  The best thing though is when Rei said “no”, she also turns away to look at Ami, as if willing Ami to not crack under Usagi’s begging, which is absolutely hilarious.  Because you can tell Ami’s smiling and enjoying this and definitely knows what’s going on in Rei’s head, and also think Usagi’s behavior at this point is just cute and hilarious. 

Makoto being the last to be approached, you can tell she already knew what she was going to do, letting her more impish side out, laughing already when she dodges Usagi and tell them to run. Rei probably expected Makoto to give in, since that’s what happened in Act 8, so you can see her face lighting up with surprise with what happens.

And classic Usagi klutziness, the moment the girls run she trips over. XD

This honestly is such a light hearted and sweet scene to end such an intense episode, and I thank you everyone who had a hand in making PGSM happen for this beauty!

pgsm!Usagi, reading her English textbook: Synonyms are weird, because if you invite someone to your cottage in the forest it sounds nice and cozy, but if I invite you to my cabin in the woods then you're going to die.

pgsm!Makoto: My favourite is explaining the difference between a "butt dial" and a "booty call".

pgsm!Ami, sighing: It's called connotation.

pgsm!Minako: Hmm, try this one for size:

pgsm!Minako, acting solemn: "Forgive me, Father, I have sinned."

pgsm!Minako, smirking at Rei: "Sorry, Daddy, I've been naughty."

pgsm!Rei, face palming: Great news! Language is now banned!

This whole short scene is so hilarious and glorious for so many different reasons:

- Makoto and Luna singing Minako’s Katagoshi no Kinsei together, and Makoto  even holding the mic to Luna for her part in the duet.  Luna even having those sad eyes to fit the melancholic song! lol

- Usagi pestering Rei to sing, Rei basically telling her off for being insufferable, but Usagi simply not having it and even pulling Rei’s arm so hard almost toppling her, and Ami just softly smiling at them while this all happened.  The whole exchange just screams their usual dynamic, but also really showing how comfortable Usagi and Rei are with each other at this point - Usagi knowing when it’s okay to keep pushing Rei’s buttons and risk annoying her without actually upsetting Rei, and Rei being okay with Usagi’s physical touches and gestures that evades her typical personal boundaries.  Sooooo very different to Act 3 and 4 when Rei pulled away from Usagi.

- Makoto calling them out for being poor audience, and sighing tiredly when Usagi and Rei just keep bantering.  She just looks so done! You can tell at this point she’s not unfamiliar with this routine with Rei and Usagi’s antics. lol 

Personal fun fact, despite the in series context that Katagoshi no Kinsei is one of Minako’s songs, there was a time I had this impression this was Makoto’s character song because she sings it as much as Minako does in the show. lol  Despite between Act 12 and now, we know this is Minako’s new released song, we don’t actually hear it being played much within the show unlike Minako’s other song.  The most I can recall hearing of this song is actually in this scene sang by Makoto and Luna, and Makoto was also involved in performing this song in Kirari Super Live with Minako and Rei.
