He was my friend first, nerd
That doesn’t exactly give you rights to being an ass, or mean I can’t try to defend him.

It was as he thought, the tent was much too small for two teenagers to get comfortable in. The moment he caught sight of the thing he hesitated to get inside. It was a kid’s tent because a Buzz Lightyear tent shaped like a spaceship was definitely made for children to play in. He would poke at it as he tried to sit comfortably with his knees close to his body, his bag beside him. Craig had mentioned a tent but he really hadn’t expected this.
“You really thought this was a good idea?”
Of course, he means the type of tent they were now to spend the night in, not the whole idea of camping out in Craig’s backyard. He tries to lie back, but it means his legs are now pressed up against Craig’s.
“How old is this thing anyway?”
Maybe he felt a bit annoyed with the prospect of having to be so close together and having no personal space he made sure to make himself a nuisance. That’s really what prompts him to lift his foot up and try to poke Craig’s face with his big toe which was sticking out of a hole in his sock.
@inscrutbl | A boring holiday.
“Did you know black friday was called that cause a bunch of people died on a black ice patch and then stores were like ‘hmmm... Capitalism?’ nuts right?”

when he got craig to agree to the game he didn't really expect to be the one going in the closet with him. it almost felt a little silly ; the butterflies that were in his stomach the minute the door closed behind them. everyone else seemed to melt away, their prying ears and giggles forgotten in the wake of being so close to his friend in such a confined space. the closet was small and filled with junk, encouraging a close distance between the two, and while they'd been this close before ( cuddle sessions were not unheard of ) something about it had clyde's heart pounding. maybe it was the name of the game, or maybe it was how lately he'd been noticing just how pretty his friend was. every grin a gift, every sparkle of mischief in his eyes the kind of look clyde would follow like a loyal dog to the very ends of the earth.
clyde couldn't really see craig in the low light of the closet, but he imagined he was calm. stoic as ever with his devil may car attitude, this whole thing brushed off as childish and not worth his time. weird, normally clyde had no problem talking to his sharp edged friend, but right now his throat felt dry. he'd definitely need to get a big glass of water after this, but for now he just swallowed hard and floundered for something to say. ❛ soooooo... ❜ he scratched the back of his neck, ❛ what should we do. ❜ craig's answer was a noncommittal, unhelpful, 'whatever we're supposed to be doing.' and clyde didn't know if he really meant that or not, considering make out was the usual expectation. craig had to know that, right, RIGHT? totally. he was so smart and he knew so many things.
puppy dog eyes were lost to the darkness. clyde was over thinking things ( craig might have joked about that being a dangerous exertion of his brain if he realized what was happening ), but his mind was stuck on makeouts, and craig, and them being in a closet together for a stupid game. it was now or it was never. he reached out to curl his fingers into the fabric of craig's jacket and tug him down into a kiss.

It’s something of a routine for them by this point. Eat lunch, go to the library. That is when they could stray away and leave behind their group of friends. For him, it usually meant having to entertain himself in some way while he made sure that Craig remained safe from anyone trying to pull any pranks on him while he slept.
And today he busied himself going through a bunch of videos; specifically, ones that featured dogs. Sure, maybe he could use this time to better himself and study but why would he do that?
As usually, Craig was leaning against him. Nothing to complain about when he was so used to this by now and it never did bother him. It did surprise him the first time it happened because he never imagined Craig would feel that comfortable with him. It couldn’t have been trust. Craig had to have been exhausted then, maybe even every other time it happened. Perhaps that was true now?
He can’t exactly question him, not because Craig was asleep as he would eventually wake, but because he felt it might turn awkward. As he feels Craig’s shift, something else that was typical of the sleeping teen, he stays still and focuses once again on his phone, he wasn’t gonna miss 30 Incredible Huskies.
