The Ofi Press | Inside "The West Africa Edition" (Issue #24)
The Ofi Press is a literary magazine that publishes "international poetry and fiction from Mexico City", spearheaded by Editor Jack Little.
In a unique partnership, The Ofi Press collaborated with Bakwa Magazine (a magazine about literature, art, culture, and photography based in Cameroon) to produce Issue #24, The West Africa Edition. All submissions were published in both English and Spanish, giving reach to The Ofi Press' predominantly Latin American audience.
Bakwa Magazine, in turn, produced a special Mexico Edition for their largely Cameroon based audience. Now this is the type of cultural exchange that we adore!
Inside The West Africa Edition, you will find:
Poetry by Fon Tuma and Dzekashu Macviban from Cameroon,
Poetry by Ivy Akpersiri, Niyi Osundare, and Uche Nduka from Nigeria,
Poetry by Nana Fredua Agyeman, DK Osei-Yaw, and Crystal Tettey from Ghana,
Poetry by Syl Cheney-Coker from Sierra Leone,
Interviews with Musician Vieux Farka-Toure and Editor of Bakwa Magazine Dzekashu Macviban, and
Photography by Samuel Finlak and Chila Joseph from Cameroon
Follow the links above to check out "The West Africa" issue online. But first, check out the Editors Letter here.
