boy oh boy it has been a very apple cino flavored year for me...i have watched TWENTY-FOUR Al Pacino movies this year woot woot!! my journey TECHNICHALLY started on February 12th when I watched Dog Day Afternoon but I say it officially started on July 17th when I watched Oceans 13 so basically ive seen like 23 Al Pacino movies in 5 months WOOT WOOT! anywayy here is my Unofficial Controversial Tier List for both MOVIES and CHARACTERS! also i havent seen the godfather Sorry im a fake fan

Hilary Swank in Insomnia (2002).

It's unusual to come across a remake that's more interesting than the original (a Scandinavian movie from 1997). Hilary Swank's Ellie is very sweet, naively hero-worshipping Al Pacino's Will Dormer, a bit like Lenina Huxley with John Spartan in Demolition Man, but at the same time she's very capable and honourable.

1. frank serpico in serpico.

you can’t make a list about #lewks without the king of greenwich village. what i loved about this movie was how they took all of the elements of the one outfit he’s wearing at the beginning of the novel and used them to build an on-screen wardrobe. i wonder if the real serpico was ever like, damn, i wish i really owned that.

2.  vincent hanna in heat. i_love_the_90s.midi. he was rumoured to have had a facelift just before this movie, but he looks the same to me. he just levelled up naturally.

3. will dormer in insomnia. a sleepy king. the worn-out look suits him so well. and look at those little waves when he brushes his bangs back. he’s like an updated slade.

4.  everybody’s daddy ivan travalian in author! author! The Fanciest Dad® ever, as well as the trendiest. you look at him and you’re looking at the early 80s. few of his characters (except serpico??) reflect the era they’re living in as clearly. a+

5.  may i present to you, the embodiment of all that is sweet and good in a three-piece suit, mr. arthur kirkland in …and justice for all. arthur is actually someone i’d want to know in real life, lol. his soft puppy lawyer look is monochromatic without being boring, but every so often he amps things up with a wine-coloured tie. i love the fluffy hair + glasses. gosh
