Post no. 1000! 🤗 I have been thinking for days what to post and say on my first 1000th post on IG... I know, it’s just a number, and for some it’s like, what’s the big deal?! But I believe in marking / celebrating little milestones. 😃 When I first started on #instagram some 4 years back, it took a while to get used to this idea of just posting unrelated multiple snapshots of my life (or whatever else)... just didn’t see the point of it, and how to get a sense of continuity in content sharing. I’d preferred FB then, maybe cos the timeline concept just felt more connected, and that there’s a great sense of “community” there. For some reason, IG has grown on me, as I discovered these snapshots, unrelated as they may seem, do show us who someone is, when we bother to take a look over time. Today, it’s actually my preferred platform. 😊 Never had any real strategy about it at the start... the initial several posts were all about FOOD. And then I started sharing the sketches I did while in Manchester 2016 Symposium, and people were actually taking interest in the way I see my world - through sketching. And then there were the family moments and trips, etc. It sorted evolved... to what it is today. Several people had asked me why I didn’t wanna start day an art-only account, as they seem to gain traction faster in terms of follower-ship... but as I pondered it, I realized gaining follower-ship my goal for doing this. And that led me to think about WHY I even post anything on IG to start with. 🤔 The answer I arrived at surprised me: I just wanted to share who I am, the life I live and love, the way I see my world, and somewhere in there, something will connect with someone, and hopefully that connection would inspire someone to live life to the max, inject some positivity into culture-at-large. So I thank you for being here. I’ve been most thankful for the connection we’ve had, the thots and moments we’ve shared.
