Of which he wondered :
As I read these tales I keep picking up on little things that I am curious about. What is this snowstar sauce? Most curious.
Also, what I wouldn't give to live in a reality where the government would punish insurance companies for screwing over their customers, rather than HELPING them cover it up or excusing it.
////
To tackle your question, snow star is another name for eidlweiss. It is an early blooming flower in alpine regions, especially in Europe.
Just as I have clover steaks, I came up with a sauce made of the snow star flowers to top them.
About the corrupt being promptly quashed by an honest government, Celestia and Luna are both honest and incorruptable. That's not always the case with the nobility who are tasked with the details of government. However, when the Twins do find out, they are indeed swift to end the problem and repair such harm as they can.
The Twins are Equestria's regulators.

You know, with how many ponies there are that get what they DESERVE instead of what they think they asked for, it's a wonder Grumpeter stays in business.
Who am I kidding, 90% of his contracts come from greedy idiots.. XD
////
True. Actually it's more than 90%. His reputation as an Evil goat is well earned.

You would think that Mol would know by now that Grumpy would never actually do anything to hurt his friends. :)
Also, the butterscotch twists and clotted cream milkshake have inspired me. I've been meaning to make clotted cream again and I now wonder. I could use the liquid remaining from the clotted cream to make some fairly decadent butterscotch cupcakes and whip up the clotted cream itself with a bit of icing sugar for the frosting.
I wonder how that might come out..
////
Mol was sure that Grumpy would not harm his friends. That's why she was upset at the Nox Eous contract that looked like it would harm Coalsmoke.
As for your inspiration, it sounds utterly delightful. Whether you make it or the oatmeal squares, I would appreciate a user report.

You know, as popular and tasty as they seem to be, I shall have to research and see if I can recreate these fried oatmeal treats with ice cream.
Your wonderful descriptions of food are doing my waistline no favors! XD
////
Sorry about your waist.
Those oatmeal squares are an old Scottish recipe. Not really hard but do take a bit of time.
Old fashioned slow cooking oatmeal works best.
Put the dry oatmeal in a pan along with whatever coarsely chopped dried fruits and nuts you want. It's hard to use too much of them.
We want this to come out really thick, so only use enough water to cover the oats. Add brown sugar, honey and butter to taste as you cook it over medium to low heat, stirring constantly. Keep some water handy to add if needed.
Spread evenly into a square pan and bake on the center rack of an oven on medium heat until firm. Cut into squares.
Can be eaten as is or batter fried. The best batter that I have found is ordinary pancake mix made as directed on the box.
Heat the oil until a cube of white bread browns in about 30 seconds. Fry the dipped squares, turning them a few times, until nicely golden brown.
Drain, cool down, top and eat.
