It's like Intelligence sees into my soul
They just pulled the premise of Erik/Charles on their leads. The whole, "You're not alone. Come home." thing.
Bless this show. Also bless their good continuation in regards to his wife.
Ho-ly shit
All the kudoses to the writers and director for making me care so much about Gabriel and Amelia's relationship. I legitimately had tears.
They had like 2 scenes to make me care and they did it. And then they suckerpunched me after.
Like.
Holy shit.
I love Riley so much.
In the pilot, she shows herself to be so professional that I expected her to be on board with keeping Gabriel focused and not distracted by finding his wife. Instead, she turns around and says, "Yeah, no, I'm gonna help you."
And she holds to that in this episode, hesitating at the thought of taking her out when Lillian asks her to. But when the time comes, she shoots. And she doesn't apologize for it because it was the right call.
She wants to help Gabriel find and reunite with his wife but she's not going to put all her faith in Gabriel's when it comes to public safety and her job. Not a week after meeting the guy.
This is actually something I've been wondering about. Why was Gabriel chosen to begin with? If they were afraid this would happen, why did they go through with it? Why did he agree to it?
Yo...tell me this is the opening just for this episode? Because it's way too old school (ironically) for my tastes. I don't need it to be the title card and up and gone in 3 seconds, I can do with an actual theme, but that was a little much...
I think I could live to 300 years old powered solely on Riley's smugness. That's how much smug!Riley thrills me.
Score!
Points to Intelligence for already giving us cute flashbacks we can connect to re: Amelia. That was one thing Sleepy Hollow (in all its most excellent excellence) dropped the ball on a bit, in leaving it way too long before they really made us care about Ichabod and Katrina's relationship. So I'm glad to see Intelligence isn't following suit on that!
