Na Bole magic returns: Ashnoor Kaur interviews Kunal Karan Kapoor
The lovely Ashnoor Kaur was recently in the office of Tellychakkar.com as the Guest Editor. The girl, who is currently seen playing Najma in Sony PAL’s Tum Saath Ho Jab Apne, decided to make the most of her journalist job by interviewing some of her close co-stars.
With Children’s Day just gone by, the girl stuck to some ‘cute’ childhood related questions in her interviews.
Here is an excerpt of her conversation with Kunal Karan Kapoor with whom she built a close bond while shooting for her show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha.
Ashnoor: Can you share some of your childhood memories?
Kunal: I think travelling by a flight has been a really special memory. Also, I remember once I was running across the road, and my mother was running behind me. I almost got run down by a car, and that was a bad experience.
Ashnoor: So were you a good boy or a bad boy in school?
Kunal: I was a very good boy.
Ashnoor: You got the highest marks and the lowest marks in?
Kunal: I used to score highest in English and the lowest marks were in the 12th standard.
Ashnoor: School life or college life?
Kunal: School life.
Ashnoor: Front bencher or last bencher?
Kunal: During my 7th-8th standard I was a back bencher but then I went on to become a first bencher.
Ashnoor: Subjects you liked?
Kunal: English and Geography.
Ashnoor: Were you ever punished in school?
Kunal: “Every day.”
Ashnoor: What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Kunal: I wanted to be an aeronautical engineer so that I could make a rocket for myself.
Ashnoor: And finally one cherished memory of your school days?
Kunal: Eating your friend’s tiffin or vice versa has always been a fun time.
Aww, those were few cute answers to some beautifully phrased questions coming from the little girl.
Way to go, Ashnoor and Kunal!!!

Kunal Karan Kapoor:The Eternal Traveller
September 9, 2014 Written by Reema Moudgil
Actor, travel buff and photography aficionado Kunal Karan Kapoor has been off TV screens since the second season of his cult show Na Nole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha wrapped up in 2013 but he has been doing what few of his peers do. Take time off from the TRP rat race to travel on a whim around the world and photograph memories of a lifetime.
He was in Gulmarg recently at the behest of a travel magazine and says, “It just takes a few hours to reach Srinagar and then Gulmarg from Mumbai and suddenly, you are in heaven. Even in April, it was biting cold and I was astounded by the majesty of the snow-clad peaks. It was like finding yourself in the surreal world of Narnia.”
He also went to Cambodia recently and the stark beauty of the country has been captured in many of his photographs.
“I was in Thailand and my visa was running out. Along with a bunch of German tourists, I got into an argument with the guy helping us with the visa formalities because he was overcharging us. He asked us in a huff to manage the rest of the trip on our own, so we did just that! We walked from the Thailand border into Cambodia. It is not everyday that you ‘walk’ into a new country and it was great. I was supposed to be there for two days but stayed on for over seven days.”
In 2012, after the first season of his show wrapped up, he undertook what was possibly the most whimsical journey of his life. He recalls, “It was a crazy trip that took me from Prague to Dubai to Bangkok to Koh Chang to New Dehi to Leh. I travelled through different time zones and climates. I was in Prague for a shoot and after the wrap everyday, I would roam the streets at night with my camera, get to my hotel in the morning, sleep for two hours and then report for the shoot again!”
As a traveller without an itinerary, he remembers flying to Koh Chang from Prague with a large suitcase and being dropped off in the middle of a forest without any idea where his hotel was. “The light was fading..I could see snakes drift past me and there I was lugging the bag up a mountain, then down another one and walking on roads with twists and turns. Finally, I did find the hotel. From the vibrant night life in Thailand to Leh, where the only thing you got to eat at night was rajma chawal, from 35 degrees of tropical sunshine to sub-zero temperatures, it was one amazing ride.”
One indelible memory is flying over the valley where Indus and Zanskar rivers met in a confluence and clicking this moment of staggering serendipity. Today, he has thousands of photographs of all the places he has been to but the hunger to travel more remains. He says, “How did I get itchy feet? I don’t know. Probably from my mother. Nothing makes me happier than a packed bag and a ticket.”

Nepal: A Pictorial Love Story
May 11, 2015 Written by Reema Moudgil
In August 2012, actor and travel photographer Kunal Karan Kapoor travelled to Nepal with the team of his daily soap Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. The crew spent over 10 days in and around the buzzing colours and heritage sites of Kathmandu and Kunal captured the rolling clouds, the valleys, the majestic structures in Durbar Square, the serene beauty of the Swayambhunath temple, the Manokamna temple and the warmth of the local people. He recalls, “We were shooting for over 12 hours at times. Once we started a shoot on a clear day and then suddenly, there were clouds everywhere. It was just magical. At the time of the earthquake, some of my friends were trekking there and it was stressful because we could not get in touch with them. Then the IAF rescued them and they came back with stories of the constant din of ambulance sirens and raw fear.” Kunal shares his memories of Nepal as it was once and says, “My thoughts are with all the people we met there and I hope, I can go back soon and help.”

Do you like anything about summers?
I like the most about summers is that it's the Mango season and the season of juices, Golas, Ice-cream and I love the fact that the ACs are always on.
Summers are meant for...Not doing wintery things.
The perfect summer wear for me is...T-shirts and jeans.
Shooting during summer is...Absolutely horrific! Shooting outdoor during summers is not so easy especially with the costumes we are given. In Na Bole, I had to wear a jacket all the time and shoot outdoor. Our spot boys used to serve me Lemonade and water from time to time in between our shots.
Things I carry along during summer...Eye Mask.
My favorite summer drink is...Lemonade.
My travel destination during summer is...Some cold place.
How do you take care of your skin?
I drink a lot of water.
My diet during summer is...I eat lots of fruits, especially watermelon and cucumber.
My fitness regime during summer is...It's just the usual. It's just how you counter de-hyderation. I don't follow any certain fitness regime.
One summer tip...Drink lots of water.
