@takenamiss asked: “ we’re family. we don’t turn our backs on each other. “ (Oceanus)
"If what you say is true, then why do I feel the sting of betrayal from our brothers? I am advised to do nothing but how I can when my children are suffering? They are alone without their mother!" Rhea objected as her voice shook with terror and confusion. Cronus could not kill their children but he hid them away, an imprisonment that reflected what their own father did to their beastly siblings. But if he could end their lives, would he be capable of it? He saw their tiny faces as threats: children could grow into enemies but only if they were treated as such. He loved them once...or so she thought.
"You won't turn against me, will you brother? Can I trust you to help me save them when I call upon you?" Rhea questioned him. She didn't want to believe he would ignore her pleas for help, but her own husband turned on her. Paranoia consuming his entire body. Poisoned his mind. Oceanus had to be stronger. He was their eldest brother who raised them, even at times more like a father. She needed him on her side.
